My real name is Willow. At sixteen years of age, I am an avid watcher of classic Shounen anime. My preferred genres include fantasy and adventure, but as long as a sufficiant plot and well developed characters are present, I can enjoy basically any sect. I attend nearby conventions regularly. My two favourite anime are Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto and Yoshiro Togashi's Hunter X Hunter. I suppose you could say that I'm drawn to mainstream anime, but that fact is simply because I have a lot of free time, and mainstream series generally have higher episode counts. I tend to grow solomn at the conclusion of an excellant anime, like many others also do. As a completely ramdon sidenote, I am currently learning how to speak Japanese, and am an aspiring novelist.

My Rating System For Reviews

10 = Absolute and utter masterpiece (It will never happen)

9 = Masterpiece with minor flaws

7 - 8 = Above average/highly recommendable series

5 - 6 = Average

2 - 4 = Poor

1 = Absolutely horrid

I may use these terms in my reviews...

Plot story = A story that focuses on the plot or the setting more than the characters. Basically, in a plot story, the characters are simply tools with which to tell the story. More than often, plot stories feel rushed and stressed, but every now and then comes a plot-story that doesn’t include these elements. Two examples of plot stories are J.R.R Tolkien’s, The Lord of the Rings and Tite Kubo’s Bleach

Character story = A story that focuses on the characters more than the plot. Basically, in a character story, the plot is interwoven with the character’s developments (usually the main protagonist’s or main antagonist’s). Two examples of character stories include Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket and Yoshiro Togashi’s Hunter X Hunter.

Now, not all series’ fit into these two categories. There are some that manage to fill both, and deliver fairly equal amounts of plot and character development. This variety of story contributes to my favorite genre, and includes series’ like One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin, Harry Potter, and Naruto.

Well Ouran is a great show but its parodying/celebrating something I don't like nor "get".

Well I started most of the new spring shows but only stuck with 6 (A Channel, Steins;Gate, Blue Exorcist, Deadman, Fireball charming and Ore Tachi). A Channel or Steins;Gate is my favourite and Ore Tachi is the most likely to be dropped (its a really funny parody show but if it focuses more on its weird plot I'm out). Also watching Cromartie High School, Gakuen Alice and Serial Experiments Lain.

Finished: the Eva Stuff, Madoka of course <3 (WATCH IT :P), Bungaku Shojo cept the movie (3 diff storylines; one meh, one good, one great), Excel saga (even wrote a review :P), Genuis Party (artsy, short, win), HSTOD OVA (one of the worst things I've seen), another story arc of Higuarshi, tried Bokurano and while good its very hard to watch (slow/dark/depressing) so its stalled and some misc. stuff like Morita-san OVA

Dropped: Spring Stuff, Samurai champloo, Ouran, Sky Girls + random stuff so insignificant I can't remember :P

Manga: Uh... reading Lucu Lucu still, started two shounen parody/rom-com manga's my friend rec'd me (Dakara Boku wa and Fujimura-kun Meitsu) both hilarous and a shojo called Koko Ni Iru Yo!. Story is cliche fluff but I read it for the uber cute art

Oh and Soul Eater, "I'd have a lot to say about beginning a story from the beginning." What do you mean? It started from the middle?

(sorry to spam ur inbox if you use the email system, I just didn't want to spam ur profile with multiple comments :P)
