Tasogare is the kind of show that you go in probably not expecting that that much f/, but then it just really exceeds expectations. Not its not a great show, but its got some really good moments. The highlight of which being the most compelling flashback sequence in recent memory. But at the end of the day it's still your typical plus and minus show. There's good moments but maybe not quite enough and the endings not perfect (though the last ep is quite good overall). But even so I still very much remember this show in a positive light.
You know now that I've started to refresh myself w/ the Lupin franchise (including some of the movies and the ongoing 2015 anime) I'm starting to appreciate this series more and more. I think its a really nice addition in the modern era of Lupin. What I like in particular is that they hit a lot of the serious notes really well w/o making it seem overblown. This is the show that I think even non-Lupin fans could consider watching that may get them interested in this classic franchise.
MGX accomplished nearly the impossible, introducting a new branch of romance anime. Lov by spit lol. Believe it or not, its not as idiotic as it sounds. This was actually a good show most of the way before slowing down a bit in the ladder stages. If you are a fan of rom coms, I would recommend it cause its something different. Otherwise, there's really no need.
This is one of those shows where the concept and the execution are just at 2 different levels. The concept is absolutely excellent, I lov this show. But then the execution for the most part is so poor that u can't ignore it. And that's why you're left w/ a show w/ a middling middle of the road ranking. I mean there are a lot of great shows obviously that people always say 'I wanna see another one of these'. And Zetman is far from a great show but dang I really wanna see another one. If properly executed, it wouldn't just be good it would be great.
I really struggle w/ my views on Jormungand following to me the utter disappointment of the 2nd season. But the 1st season I did enjoy quite a bit. Fun-loving characters, some good action sequences, there's definitely a lot to like. Obviously the plot progression was a bit limited always working towards the 2nd season, but the 1st season in a vacuum is a decent show.
This is kind of the perfect example of how much I lov SoLs. This is not gonna be a generally well liked show, I don't need the site ratings to tell me that. But for me and the other true SoL fans out there, this is all you ask for. Great interplay of the characters (thanks to the VA/ musical group Sphere) and a decent enough concept so its not quite just the same old thing. It's a nice pleasant show that's always gonna keep a smile on your face. It doesn't need to be anything more than that.
