What can you say? Arguably the best anime of the last 2 yrs (and frankly to me there's very little argument to be made). This is just a beautifully constructed show. Lovely animation, lovely ambience, a fantastic tragic romance story. Let's put it this way, I absolutely detest one of the characters and yet I still view this show as almost infallable. That's how good it is. They make a piano recital as edge of your seat epic as a big-time action sequence. And for that matter, the last 2 episode sequence may be the best ending sequence in anime period. Watch it, now.

The sequel to one of the most popular anime of the last few yrs, and it doesn't disappoint. The one thing I felt was lacking was that there's only 1 arc due to this only being 1 cour as opposed to its 2 cour predecesor. But otherwise, just as good if not better than the 1st season. To me this has a bit of that darker 2nd act vibe like what they were going for w/ the 2nd Mass Effect. In any case, Psycho-pass 2 delivers what you'd expect f/ the franchise w/ more material still to come (fyi, the movie is FANTASTIC).

Vanadis is a strong best of the rest candidate in a season where 3rd place was the highest spot realistically up for grabs. What I really like are the tactical battle elements. That was something I appreciated in shows like Titan and later Arslan as well. Obviously, some of the ech stuff drags its down, but overall really a good solid showing f/ a show I don't think many people expected much f/.
