Alright. Fine. Here. My top *scratch*ten*/scratch* sixteen list.

1. Claymore [Decided within the first eight episodes to be the only rank 5 anime I've ever watched, even if the ending derailed the manga and killed it horribly. If you don't at least somewhat-agree... then you don't know your action/adventure/shounen/seinin/adult-swim-style anime as well as you thought you did.]

2. Soul Eater [Gods of Insanity? Scythes? Guns? Shinigami's? Witch Queens? 'Nuff said.]

3. Code Geass [Oh look, I'm on tv... taking over the world.]

4. 07-Ghost [Something about this anime...]

5. Seirei no Moribito [Talk about grasping victory from the jaws of an unstoppable fate. Bravo. This is how it's done. No Bleach mega-random-god-mode-super-powerups to be seen.]

6. Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok [The ending almost made me cry. Almost. That's what gave it this spot. The closest I've ever come to crying over some fcking pixels (that didn't have a $ in front of them).]

7. Trinity Blood [Crusnik O2... Power Output 80%; Activate. Too bad author died, or this would've been the first of my two rank 5 animes. *sigh*]

8. Gun x Sword [E.P.I.C. Volkain... and his wielder... Jesus Cee-Ryst back to back badasses all around. My kind of mudafaukin anime... with a GREAT ending!]

9. Vampire Knight (& Vampire Knight Guilty) [Something about this anime...]

10. Outlaw Star [Now THIS is how an anime ending is done. YES.]

11. Rurouni Kenshin [If I ever had a #1 before this list... it was Kenshin. Pro shit. Unfortunately, he's old news now. Sorry, Kenshin :(]

12. Yu Yu Hakusho [Also old news. Arguably, Flame of Recca could also be in this very same spot, since they're pretty much the same anime (just look at their openings).]

13. Read Or Die (TV/OVA) [Too much jealousy of America for my tastes, but I still liked it.]

14. Shaman King (Subbed) [ಠ_ಠ - The PowerxSkill hierarchy may be a little shaky, and it may be old news, but... Yes.]

15. Black Blood Brothers [Aww. Cutest little main character I've ever seen :3 And a storyline to match!]

16. FLCL [Only a true man can see this and appreciate it for what it really is. #16. This was pro shit. Shall never be forgotten.]

Note that I rate anime based on how much of a footprint it leaves on my life, and how it influences the things that I do from that point forward--the morals it teaches me, the ideals it instills in me, the motivation it inspires for me, etc. I know; weird, right? Ha. Last time I had a true #1 anime it was like... the year 2005.

After watching said anime, I went off and made $7,000 USD programming for a video game. I think I was 13.
