Thanks for the heads up! I actually watched the first episode about 6 months ago and then decided to drop the show. Then after reading the recs on the database I finally watched the 2nd episode and figured I may give it another shot - but I was more inclined to drop it for good..... but now I will definitely watch it. Thanks! I guess there is always a danger of being flooded with recs... but I definitely appreciate your advice. I will hunt down your other suggestions when I get home tonight. I guess the best plan is as we both watch stuff we can let the other know... and of course anything that you feel I must see will go onto my priority list.

Ah... PC gamer I don't know why I forgot COD4 was available on the PC. I used to play a lot of PC games a few years ago... but constantly having to put together a killer rig to play the latest and greatest became a pain so I kinda gave that up. Now its only consoles that I play on.
I tend to play a lot of action/adventure games - God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry - should give you a fair idea of what I like.
Sounds great... I will drop you a quick comment as I go through any shows. As good as Anime Planet is in terms of general recs in the end it comes down to the views of the individual hence there are a few recs of the database that I have followed but dont agree with at all.
I try to always score aggressively, hence I think only 1 or 2 anime have full 5 stars.... Cowboy Bebop is so popular that I had to watch it... but perhaps I just watched it too late? I can't put my finger on it but I just could never really get into it, I think if there had been more romance I would have really enjoyed it and I can understand why so many people like it but it just didnt grab me.
Thanks for suggesting Busou Renkin I have added it to my "want" list and will go on the hunt for it tonight. I've been meaning to watch Vandread and will push it to the top of my watch list following your suggestion. As for Samurai Deeper Kyo maybe I will keep it in reserve, I used to always watch any anime I started all the way through... but after watching a few too many crappy ones I have started to drop shows after a few episodes so that I can move on to something better.
I'm surprised you have not watched Naruto! This show is definitely a must see for you, great action + story and there is at least some romance in it - although this part is definitely not a strong focus - I appreciate it in any anime.
One quick rec from me, although I saw it in your "want" list - I strongly recommend Tokimeki Memorial ~ Only Love, I think this was one of the best romance anime I have seen in the past couple of months and I am confident your will enjoy it.
Off to play COD4 huh? Always good to know another gamer! I have been meaning to play COD4 myself.... do you have a PS3 or a 360? I've got a PS3 but will pick up a 360 pretty soon as well. Last good game I played was Uncharted Drakes Fortune.
Hey Xennon I have been meaning to drop you a quick message to say hi. Very nice top 20 list.... I think I have seen most of them, but definitely not all of them. From your posts in the forums it looks like we share very similar tastes when it comes to anime.
My favourite are romance type and I'm always on the hunt for good series to watch. After that would be shows like Bleach/Naruto etc.
So, I thought it would be good to introduce myself and hopefully we can help each other with suggestions on what to watch.
