Ha! Yeah, tell me about it. I haven't had any time to watch anime for a while, but hopefully I'll have a little time over winter break.
And, I've heard a lot of criticisms about those two shows based on their art style. Personally I think it was a really smart move for them to use an odd, kind of ugly art style because it really reflected the dark characters and the shocking storylines.
Even if it turns a few people away, I think this was really the right choice.

Hi there! That's a pretty impressive anime list you've got there. You should consider seeing Interstella 5555, it's only about an hour and it's easily available!
Hey, I was wondering: why won't you watch Kaiji? You may end up disliking it, but you can at least give it one episode. If it's because you didn't like Akagi, don't worry! I always get mad at people for saying they're so similar when they are actually extremely different in a lot of ways.
