The Vision of Escaflowne

May 23, 2014

Note in mind that I don't fit the appropriate age to have watched this show so be wary of more criticism to come.
Also, I began watching this show a year ago and dropped it for almost a year, so my memory won't absolutely fresh. Overall And Production:  Shoji Kawamori (producer) seems to be telling the viewers the lore of his world rather than the heroin story.  The only problem is that the pacing of Escaflowne doesn't have the time needed for that.  Disappointingly giving another addition to the bishonen trope. We can tell that this show cares more for the world, it has... See full review

Colorful (2010)

Jul 27, 2015

Overall and Production: A self reflective movie that will keep the viewer with asking more and more questions until it's climax. A highly recommended movie with controversial themes on human nature that will leave misanthropists and philanthropists alike coming to mutual agreements. Based on the self titled novel by Eto Mori and directed by Keiichi Hara. A work that opened the doorway for Keichii Hara from making children's anime and onto creating feature length movies. Colorful has a very thin line between it's story and it's characters. It is very hard to separately write about it's story and... See full review

One Pound Gospel

Sep 14, 2014

Overall and Production: Directed by anime pioneer Osamu Dazaki and written by famouse manga author Rumiko Takahashi. This combo should be a defiening work punching new highs in the newly founded OVA format. Unfortunetly the great pair do not reatch anything to high in this work. The origenal One Pound Gospel manga was a "benched project" taking 20 years to complete! Perhaps this anime has become outdated and stored in cobwebs only to be seen by adept fans of the two makers? Story: The story hitch line is simple, Kosaku is on the border line of being a heavy weight/lightweight boxer. If... See full review

Irresponsible Captain Tylor

May 23, 2014

Personal thought before review:  This review will be a bit positive rather then both a critical review.  You see I got out of watching anime a year ago, and after picking this show up a few weeks ago I'm back in full swing! Also has made me want to pick up The Ledgend Of The Galactic Heroes that it parodies that I'm about to watch so I give it thanks for that aswell. Overall And Production: A show what revolves most humour around one man's incompablility surely shouldint be counted as annything more then mediocre surely.  Yet Captain Tylor milks it's dull consept so well that It produses... Kite

Jul 7, 2013

<rant> Kite - the Original Infamouse Animation Before I start I want to say that this will be an upset response rather than a review as you can see by my rating.  I have only watched about 20 minutes but it was long enough to leave its impression. This will contain minor spoilers but there's not a lot to miss out on in my opinion. I'm a fan of Gekia and approve people's right to takle dark subjects about society and the human condition in the hopes of raising awareness, yet any power can be corrupted.  The anime all in all is about an assassin android roughly 12-15 who is being asked to... 5 Centimeters per Second

Oct 15, 2012

<rant/adolescent review> An ok movie but just wasn't for me.....  Yes, I'm a heartless monster. Story:  This movie is based around a romance between two children around fifteen or sixteen years of age.  Since they have school 'oh noes!' and invisible parents, plus living in different regions which makes travel (which is the boys' responsibility) difficult.  The boy tries to meet her a few times but because of ill planning and parents he fails to.  I do like the theme that hoping for good things doesn't necessarily make them happen.   Animation:  I have to... Haibane Renmei

Oct 14, 2012

<adolescent review> This i can wrap up in a simple nine words... Hard Boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World!!! Definitely recommend it, the authur Murakami is expected to win the nobell prize any year now. Well besides that rant, time to get down to buisness. Story: Ill try not to refference Murakami's work that this story is bassed off to much and stick to Haibane Renmei on it's own. Haibane Renmei has a theme rather then a story, a vision of heaven with it's own uniqueness and unpredictableness. The main charecter is named Kana who is wiped of her previouse existence from her past life... See full review
