Hey there!  My name is Ryan but I usually go by Skip or Skippy :> Like everyone else here I'm a big fan of anime and I love video games.  I've been playing MMO's since I was a wee lad. Whether its watching anime, reading a book or playing a video game I'm always critiquing it my head, such as, "I wonder what made them go with this over that?". I'm very interested and invested in the world around me and there's nothing I love more than beautiful artwork in all of its shapes and sizes :D

My Reviews

"Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae." -Kurt Vonnegut

This is pretty much my motto when writing reviews.  I try not to let my reviews turn into rants and I certainly try not to build a superiority complex while writing.  Oddly enough I usually enjoy the "bad" anime anyways.  Sometimes I just like good old fashioned mindless fun.

Star Ratings

The ratings I give animes on my watched list may differ from the score on my reviews.  This is because I try to give credit where credit is due, even if I didn't personally enjoy it for some reason.  Sometimes I'll give a bad review to an anime that I enjoyed.  Numbers are just technicalities.  The tone of my reviews generally reflect how I truly feel about them.  Read my review before getting snippy on my score :)

★☆☆☆☆: Torture

★★☆☆☆: Bad

★★★☆☆: Average

★★★★☆: Great

★★★★★: Incredible!

Your Criticism

I want my name to be equated with high quality and helpful reviews.  I encourage comments on my reviews.  I put a lot of time and thought into what I write so naturally I'd like to know your thoughts!  And feel free to critique! Seriously, if you ever read anything I write and it comes off like a ten year-old wrote it, let me know.  Even minor things that can improve flow and consistency are welcome.  Oh, and by the way, I love debates.  If you disagree with one of my reviews or opinions, send me a message explaining why.  I'll take it as an early "Thank You," before I totally turn over your world. >:]

Ah, Well they already started to get better, but I still don't really like any of them. The rest of the crew I don't have much of a problem with.

But who is the bald guy that is only in some episodes? He doesn't seem to go to any meetings, but he seems like he is important to the Gecko's maintenance, but not much of a character in the show.

Don't worry, as soon as I find time (read: "when I manage to move my lazy butt") I will do what must be done... I will replay.

Concerning the "friends list", do what you want. It's not like I ever use most of the useless features on this site, har har har.

Oh yeah, if you are still wondering what to watch/read you can always drop by my blog - http://whiskeywolf.wordpress.com/ - there is more stuff about my fav stuff then you can find on this site... and I usually update it from time to time... (read: "I'm too lazy to cross-post stuff on AP").

I am glad you brought that up, because that is one reason I tell people Outlaw Star is better, it does have a plot that is aparent in all the episodes, like you know why they are where they are, there are a couple of fillers, but it isn't just a take a pause from the plot, there is a reason for the filler, like the hot spring episode Gene goes to planet to get special caster shells, which he ends up relying on in the last couple episodes.

But in short, yes it does have a driving plot that makes you want to keep going.
