I've never quite been able to give up anime because it's a great way to keep the child in me alive. The child in me happens to be Sakura Kinomoto; the adult in me is turning day by day into Eva Heinemann. So you see the need.

My anime time includes writing reviews for Anime UK News and co-presenting what is arguably the UK's best anime podcast, Nakama Britannica. The latest episode is a review of FLAG, Ryousuke Takahashi's strange and unique war series. As for my tastes, I can forgive most flaws if a show offers well-crafted characters, and I sometimes watch shows just because nobody else has. Lastly, if you're looking for something fun to do, why not join in the awesome forum club, Find Your Anime Buddy! Go on… you know you want to.

*My rating scale: 1-3 (Poor); 4-6 (Average); 7-8 (Good); 9-10 (Masterpiece)

I did consider watching Princess Uthena before but I think I just forgot to add it to my WTW list. Thanks for reminding me nonetheless :).

Watched 2 episodes of Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet so far, it's abit of a mix between Pocahontas, Waterworld and ET (except in this ET is a human from space and he pilots a mecha robot). I think it's decent so far and it's pretty easy to get into, so you should probably give it a try.

As for Attack on Titan, I'm not a big fan of the main character and seeju that's voicing him. Don't think you have seen much of him yet, but he has this screamy shounen thing going which tends to get on my nerves. The rest of the cast seems kind of bland and the story is generic mainstream stuff so far. Regardless of that it's ranked 8th on this website so other people don't seem to have the same problem.

Thanks for the Penguindrum rec, enjoying it alot already after 4 episodes. Not sure how to put it, but whoever made that show must have had some screws loose in the wrong (or the right) places.

Just wanted to update you on possible goodness thats comming up in spring. There is 2 that might be worth a watch, one is "Attack on Titan and the other is "Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet". Not sure what to expect story wise but both, (especially the latter) seem to be very well animated.

Ok, short anwser, it's yes.

Remember how Ghost in The Shell was when the laughing man wasn't introduced yet? I think shows like GITS and Psycho pass don't do well in short story arcs. Basicly they are only as good as their villans....In the case of PP, if it doesn't grab you after episode 11 I don't think it will. Up until then I had it at 3 stars and I started rating it upwards from there (and hating the cliffhanger endings that made me wait a week every time).

That beeing said, you only really ever watched one other show that I recommended you and that's steins gate. From reading your reviews and by the looks of your ratings, I think you are abit more of a critic then me, so it's hard to tell for sure that you'll actually like stuff I recommend. Furthermore, re-rating stuff I watched in the past (downwards usually) is something I do alot because I have more to compare it to now and also because I am easily hyped and honestly slightly embarrassed at what garbage manages to entertains me.

Any luck at finishing your thesis yet btw?
