I've never quite been able to give up anime because it's a great way to keep the child in me alive. The child in me happens to be Sakura Kinomoto; the adult in me is turning day by day into Eva Heinemann. So you see the need.
My anime time includes writing reviews for Anime UK News and co-presenting what is arguably the UK's best anime podcast (I'm not biased or anything...) Nakama Britannica. The latest episode is an interview with Andrew Partridge of Scotland Loves Anime fame. As for my tastes, I can forgive most flaws if a show offers well-crafted characters, and I sometimes watch shows just because nobody else has. Lastly, if you're looking for something fun to do, why not join in the awesome forum club, Find Your Anime Buddy! Go on… you know you want to.

Yeah, I disappeared for a bit. Now I get to play catch up, but I don't seem to have missed anything other than Psycho-Pass and FtNW.
Basically I blame my watching GoT on the lack of interesting anime lately. Well, that and because these eyebrows are on one of the main characters' faces: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emilia_Clarke (SWOON). I've only read the first 2, but I'm preeeeetty sure Martin said there will only be seven- though the man is taking his sweet time writing them, so I guess it's possible he'll up and die before then. Personally I'd find that hilarious- fanboy rage is the best, and I've never been bothered much by perma-cliffhangers.
Viv! Are you wathing Game of Thrones? (you should be)
Holy crap! Its been well over a year! I almost forgot about this site. I just really got distracted I guess. Mostly by other shows (Game of Thrones, Archer, Community, Parks and Rec, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Futurama, etc).
Really the only reason I got back into the anime was learning that Crunchyroll was available on XBox Live. Started watching Attack on Titan and Flowers of Evil. And I don't care what people say about Flowers, it (so far) is really great. So much personality. The rotoscope animation, the minimilistic soundtrack. Love it.
I see you gave me recomendations in one of your last comments to me, and of them AnoHana was the only one I watched. What a nice, sweet show it was. I will try to catch up. How are you doing?
Wanna see something really awesome?
Since your also quite fond of Pluto, you'll definitely enjoy this great fandub:

Have a nice weekend
Konnichiwa!
I don't think many people would argue with you on the Daenerys thing. The show aged her up to 20ish (thank god), which made the whole thing a lot less blech. I'll have to look into Jordan's stuff- I usually don't have much tolerance for your wimminfolk, but I just read the first two of Rothfuss's (very disappointing) Kingkiller series so I think my standards are low enough to put up with that if the story is kickass enough.
Aw man, super excited for FtNW. Gotta finish off some of my watching list first, though, it's starting to get out of hand. I doubt I'll be much help for recs, I think you've seen most of my favorites that you have any chance of also liking (except possibly Himitsu. Get on that). A couple of months ago I watched this Korean animated film called Leafie: A Hen Into the Wild, which was pretty swell. It's full of bishounen ducks (which are unexpectedly way better than boring human bishounen), and it made my friend cry.
http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/kono-danshi-ningyo-hiroimashita was also pretty neat- it was made entirely by one lady, which I've decided is badass, and it has a gay merman.
