I began watching anime when I was like 4 years old with Spongebob, Thomas the tank engine, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Shaman King , DBZ , and watched a bit of GT but didnt like it but during all thoses years I didn't know what an 'anime' was but I loved them

Much later, I watched the first 100 episodes (or so) of Naruto and Naruto shippuden because my friend mentioned it to me and said how much episodes he was on so i got competetive and challanged him to see who can go the furthest and won  and I loved it.

I always rate the anime I watch , sometimes ill be sad if there was no more short episodes. Its always the short ones that are like 24 episodes long that i say " i wont get used to this" then later "searches on google for a second season"

I watch anything highly-rated and recommended by friends, any kind of genre

My favorite characters are

Deidara,Kakashi Hatake, Saosri, Jiraiya (aka pervy sage)  and Obito Uchiha  in Naruto

T.K in Angel-Beats

Death note i read today

Hello!  sothis is redesigning the anime-planet site, and plans to roll out an awesome new site design in July, we believe. The blog feature is not part of the new design, and it is going away.  More information about this here:  Announcement: the blog feature is being deprecated topic link. (Be sure to check out the new site design when it goes live!)

I am volunteering in a project to notify folks who have blogs posted here, like yourself, that the blog feature is going away. So if you want to save the information that you posted in your blog on the site, you’ll need to move that information someplace else on the site that WON’T be going away. If you don’t move the information to another part of the site, the information will be gone when the new site design goes live.

So, we are telling everyone that has posted a blog this.  And then we are making suggestions where they can move their information, based on what information their blog contained. This comment has recommendations to you where to move your blog content.

Note that you can generally post what you are doing IRL, how you are feeling, what you are watching, etc. in the forums section of the site. There are a lot of topics where you can post such information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get back to me, and I will try to assist.

Maybe in future you may want to leave the more explicit anime at home, rather than watching it in class! (or maybe invite the tattler to watch it with you!)  Otherwise, bring the more innocuous titles in instead. *grin*

Read your review of Hotarubi -

You watched Hotarubi!!!! I love this little movie. A little cliché perhaps, but it still moves me to tears every time to watch it.  And though the ending is sad/not what I wanted, at least it HAS an ending. Most anime ends on a very vague or ambiguous note and I really dislike this. (It is a a big reason why I have not yet given a 5-star rating to some otherwise excellent anime.) I think it is a cultural difference between Americans and Japanese. We Americans (well, at least THIS one does) prefer more concrete resolutions to our stories. (The Japanese seem to prefer more ambiguity and leaving things less resolved, leaving endings more up to the viewer's discretion.)

You're welcome. I hope that you enjoy this site as much as I do.

You asked for recommendations from me, but you didn't tell me what you like!  LOL Your 5-star ratings are all kinds of various anime, so that is no help!

If you like action: I see you list Attack on Titan as Want To Watch. I recently saw and enjoyed this, so you should check it out too! Or an older title: Berserk

If you like comedy/school life: School Rumble on your WTW list is pretty fun. Or try Ouran High School Host Club. For romantic comedy, check out Lovely Complex.

If you like horror, check out Another or GANTZ. For survival anime: Btooom!

For action/fighting: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) or maybe Kill La Kill.

For sad/bittersweet/touching: Hotarubi no Mori e or Grave of the Fireflies or 5 Centimeters per Second

I know you say you don't like this genre, but these are pretty good: For mecha action try Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann or any of the Gundam franchise (this has the advantage of being a GIGANTIC universe with many hundreds of episodes to watch!) <-- If you want 900+ episodes, these are the way to go!

This ought to get you started! *grin* I have other recommendations I could give (slice of life, odd/unusual, scifi, etc. etc.) so let me know if there's something specific you seek.

And of course, utilize the site's recommendations, they are GREAT! Just go to the description page of an anime you like, and click on the recommendations button on the left side to see what other Anime-Planet members recommend if you like the display anime.
