Everyone remembers the good old days. For some of us it was a long time ago, for others it wasn't that long. For me, it was back around '06-'08 when Animebreaker was still online. That was the place to go for anime during those years.
I was one of the administrators under the site owner, Vanquiz, along with God, ProcessBot, Souchiro, Cody, Church, all of those guys, if you remember that site at all. We would spend all day in the shoutbox just chatting about whatever came to mind, from racism to expensive eBay items to zombies, pretty much everything was fair game. Earlier today I actually pulled up some old shoutbox conversations off of my college laptop that I had saved (I used to do a forum series on AB called Shoutbox Classics for anyone who missed all of our hilarious antics). It really took me back and made me remember how much fun I used to have watching anime.
These days I still enjoy watching shows (as my About Me page clearly reflects) but it's just not the same. Maybe the shows really WERE better back in the days of Animebreaker or maybe it was because I had an active community of fans to talk about shows with. Or maybe it was just that I had a great place to go and just shoot the breeze with people just as off their rockers as I was at the time. Whatever the case, I miss those days and those folks I used to hang around the internet with. As insane as we all were, it always felt like a welcome place to visit and spend some time. The crap was always give-and-take, but it was always fun.
So, to any of you former Animebreakers out there, I hope you read this and remember the good times we had. Maybe I'll even post some of those old Shoutbox Classics on here to entice old members to join up...
