Jun 3, 2011Really great manga, I typicaly don't like to read manga but once I started this one, I couldn't stop. The story is very long and drawn out, but It has a really powerful revilation towards the end that is worth waiting for. The artwork is great and the characters are very interesting, especialy Musashi and Kojiro.

While GodzillaGus is correct about the characters being relevant to actual living people in history, the story of Vagabond--or rather, the character of Musashi is based off of the novel "Musashi" written by: Eiji Yoshikawa--first being published in 1935.
I thought the manga adaptation was interesting; though, I didn't like the way in which an adjacent time-skip takes place in the later story. As far as it being drawn out, hah, it's still ongoing, and the reason being that the novel it's based off of is rather long.
yea this is an entertaining manga. i dont really read manga either but i've read a lot of hype about this one and have done some research on Musashi. many of the characters are real people in history.
