Just a few words about me:
Me and anime have a long history, although not a deep one even if it has accompanied me for a long time since I was 12-15 years old. I think the first ever Japanese animation that I watched and knew it was an anime was Gundam Wing around 2001. Even though our relationship progressed with the start of Naruto in 2002, that I am still watching to this day, I do not call myself a big mainstream shonen fan and prefer a good drama, or more realistic slice-of-life kind of a story instead whenever I am able to find one. But after a few life changing movies that made me realise, why japanese animations are considered the best of the world, unfortunately, as I realised, realistic, non-cliché, original shows are rare to come by even in the anime world, so this relationship has been progressing rather poorly at its best, even after watching 150+ shows in less than 5 years. So I often wonder why I should bother anymore and if it is worth spending so much of my freetime on.
The answer has yet to show itself, but all in all, I tend to enjoy watching anime as it often gives a fresh and completely different take on film making than American or European style narratives and imagery, so the story is far from finished, let us see what the future still holds in store for us all.
