Story: In a nutshell, it's about delinquents playing baseball and their coach/teacher who talks about dreams and inspires said delinquents to stop doing delinquent behaviour and play some baseball. Story: Naoki Urasawa's name on the cover is a seal of quality. You know the series you're about to read is some of the best in the genre, if not the entire damn medium. He's just that good, and 20th Century Boys is no different. I truly adore this series. Started reading it when it was still ongoing, waiting for each chapter to be released, up to it's conclusion. It's a simple premise; a girl has to crossdress as a guy to pay off a debt to a host club and while it starts as a comedy with any hints of romance played for laughs, it later on delves more into romance as feelings become clear and hearts become known. Story: Framed for mass murder, wanton slaughter and 16 other assorted accounts, Ganta is found guilty and is sentenced to Deadman Wonderland, a jail where the public can watch some fun death games and badass blood fights. That's my face through the entire thing. Not only is it a one-shot, it's a one-shot about a world where people wear swimsuits. All the time. And this is at school, where they got out of the wet, wet outside, in their swimsuits. It is exceptional: in it's delivery, in the art, the colour, the wetness of it all, dat milk, even when writing on the board it's delicious. Considering that it's swimsuits and nothing else, I'm scoring it appropriately, with 90% of the score going to art, fanservice and swimsuits with the remaining 10% to everything else. Which is nothing.

A Drifting Life has been at my library for lord knows how long. Sitting there, amongst all the short volumes of more known works and volumes numbering in the teens. Picked it up when it finally dawned on me that it was on my to-read list and immediately started on it when I got home. It goes from dramatic reasoning to psycho lunacy and only gets better from there. From a man's good intentions of trying to reconcile with his wife to his intent to commit murder, it starts off a tad dreary and goes to hell as things take a turn for the creepy. Story: Straight up, I had some real fun with this. It's an apocalypse that isn't entirely brought about by humans, but by mother nature getting fed up with humans being the top dogs and opening up a can of whoop-ass. The real nitty-gritty of it is that the environment is changing and in turn, so does the ecosystem. The ecosystem in thos case doesn't bother with the large species but with the small. Story: Ai Kora, a heartwarming tale about a guy who loves parts. I don't just mean an ass-man or a titty fiend, this is a guy with class and expectations, specific taste and a gourmet palette. *Review only goes up to chapter 49, the end of the Twilight of the Gods arc. Story: World leaders play mahjong with each other to settle disputes, debts, gamble and to decide the next Pope. That's the basic, bare bones plot, but it gets more ridiculous as it advances. By the time you hit Ragnarok, you think you've seen it all but Twilight of the Gods rears it's head and it just goes off into the ocean. This one's kinda tough to review. It's a pie slice from the Grand Higurashi Pie that goes well with the other slices, even though they have different flavours. There is a hint of flavour of the other arcs but it still has it's own distinct flavour. So, pie. You know it's a guy, but you have to admire an ass that fine. If the manga would keep up with such fine ass-ness then it would be perfect. Unfortunately, it does not. It's a sweet, adorable tale about the adorable Ai, swimmer and gal who trolls Main Guy in her arc. This is strictly for fans of her and for those who watched the show. It does her justice with some great art to boot. The quick story wouldn't appeal much to other people but if I remember correctly, it's faithful to the show and probably faithful with the length as well. I adored her and the show so this is right up my alley so once again, fans of the show and more specifically Ai, pick it up. Everybody else, watch the show instead of reading about Ai's arc. It'll be better that way and more filling.

Story: You know, I can't believe it ended. It left so much open, so many threads untied and loose. So many things missing, so many questions left unanswered and yet, it answered some of the most important of them all, and to it's benefit in a good pace.
