Story: Naoki Urasawa's name on the cover is a seal of quality. You know the series you're about to read is some of the best in the genre, if not the entire damn medium. He's just that good, and 20th Century Boys is no different. Like Fear Itself, The Terror or American Horror Story after the third episode in recent seasons, the quality within would vary massively unless it's some sublime work of art that maintains consistent greatness throughout. That ain't happening. But this is more akin to Fear Itself with an episodic anthology rather than a seasonal one that sometimes has continuity. A Drifting Life has been at my library for lord knows how long. Sitting there, amongst all the short volumes of more known works and volumes numbering in the teens. Picked it up when it finally dawned on me that it was on my to-read list and immediately started on it when I got home. Story: Ai Kora, a heartwarming tale about a guy who loves parts. I don't just mean an ass-man or a titty fiend, this is a guy with class and expectations, specific taste and a gourmet palette. At War on Halloween MM I truly don't know where to start with this one. It wasn't outstanding, but it also wasn't bad. Pretty good for a one volume work though, which is a plus. Has a good premise and deals with inmates saved from death, isolation and comfort within said isolation. It's a sweet, adorable tale about the adorable Ai, swimmer and gal who trolls Main Guy in her arc. This is strictly for fans of her and for those who watched the show. It does her justice with some great art to boot. The quick story wouldn't appeal much to other people but if I remember correctly, it's faithful to the show and probably faithful with the length as well. I adored her and the show so this is right up my alley so once again, fans of the show and more specifically Ai, pick it up. Everybody else, watch the show instead of reading about Ai's arc. It'll be better that way and more filling.

Story: A classic tale of guy winding up in a death match battle royale between a number of contestants for a hefty prize bag against his will. Story: Framed for mass murder, wanton slaughter and 16 other assorted accounts, Ganta is found guilty and is sentenced to Deadman Wonderland, a jail where the public can watch some fun death games and badass blood fights. Story: I just loved this straight from the first few pages, where the main gets the taste smacked out of his mouth by a rogue tennis ball while playing voyeur on a distant third or so floor with some peeping specs. It goes from dramatic reasoning to psycho lunacy and only gets better from there. From a man's good intentions of trying to reconcile with his wife to his intent to commit murder, it starts off a tad dreary and goes to hell as things take a turn for the creepy. This one's kinda tough to review. It's a pie slice from the Grand Higurashi Pie that goes well with the other slices, even though they have different flavours. There is a hint of flavour of the other arcs but it still has it's own distinct flavour. So, pie. It's a late bloomer in the baking cycle, considering that it's in the mid teens of the series and being Kai, here meaning Answer. Answering questions from earlier on and providing it's own. Alternating between 4-Koma and the normal... non-4-Koma format, Hozuki-san Chi no Aneki is about a brother, Gorou, who lives with his sister, Haru, (Not related by blood; step siblings?), and has a sister complex.
