Story: I seriously can't stop laughing at how hilariously bloody and fuckballs disturbing this was. Starts off with a girl and a boy, about to swap spit when OH SHIT A KILLER LEAPS OUT AND KILLS THE BOYFRIEND! Right in the fucking head. With an axe. Story: Long story short, it's about a 30 year old bachelor who adopts a six year old girl named Rin. Those are roughly the ages but a simple premise leads to one of the most heartwarming and adorable series I've ever had the pleasure to watch. It's strictly slice-of-life and doesn't devaite from it with any fancy, wacky sci-fi fantasy whatever elements, and since it's just everyday stuff, it should be tame and boring but it's fun and so endearing that it's captivating. LETS GET IT! LETS GET IT! LETS GET IT LETS GET IT LETS GO! Story: It's about people fighting over discounted Bentos. That's it. That's the entire premise of this Serious Business show, and it works. While the plot is mainly non-existant apart from some token boss battle arcs, it works as a comedy over any dramatic moments it may toss to the viewer. Story: Baka to Test was never big on plot, and the second season is no different. Starting off with a pair of beach episodes and a festival, then moving to an onsen that begins to feature some of the Shoukanjuu, and finally moving back to the school setting for... stuff. Do I care that the plot isn't particularly good or memorable? Hell no! I just care about the comedy and events that lead up to comedy irregardless of actual plot or depth and it delivers the comedy from the first season in spades, mileage may vary. Baka to Test; it may be stupid but it's at the point of being stupidly fun without moving into annoying and this OVA is no different. As the synopsis states, it's an adaptation of the Festival arc in the manga. It's recommended that one watches the first season before watching the OVA as to not miss out on some of the references to events seen in the first season. You don't have to, as this is simple minded fun and can be enjoyed without knowing what happened before (And that the first season was pretty episodic at times). Straight up, this is a mish mash of genres: crime, comedy, drama, suspense, action and probably a few more. Something for nearly everybody and all those ingredients in the end form a decadent cake that may be brief but tastes delicious. The ambient jazz goes perfectly for your meal, but more on that later. It takes place in the 1930's and this is probably the first anime I've seen set in that period. I don't know much about the '30s so I don't know if alchemy or immortals were commonplace back then.
