Studio Ghibli, how I love the work you do. You're easily one of my fa- wait, what? Madhouse? Man... I could have sworn it was Studio Ghibli... regardless, Madhouse produced another work of brilliance with Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo.

It might have been the animation; simple character designs, clean and not heavily detailed with the backgrounds looking more elaborate, providing a pleasant viewing experience. Or me being a sucker for romance movies. Or even the theme of going back in time to change things for a better present (At the time of the change) that made it so engrossing, or a mix of all three. Or simply that it's fun. But it's not all fun and games, as it's serious from time to time. The last third is, while the first two thirds are more fun-oriented. The last third is good in it's own right, even with the change and all, but some parts seemed... kinda wacked out. Still good stuff and enough to make me shed a tear or five.

Fun, fun, fun... that's what it was to me. And to see how it ended from such a great premise. I liked the ending, didn't love it, but I liked it. Kinda trippy once in a while but overall, I had a great time.
