I found A-P a while back and at first I didn't think much of it. I finally saw one of the very-well generated sigs on another site, a very small forum I frequent, and bookmarked the place for further investigation about three days ago. I've been very pleased with the experience so far, and the only thing that has caused me problems was finding a good picture of Miku to use as my avatar. :3

I am unemployed (job market has always been horrific around my town) and I am still gathering money for college. It seems my credit history was terrorized when my identity was stolen a few years back, and I have had a terrible time getting a loan. In my free time (which is pretty much half my waking hours) I split up pretty evenly between games, anime, and reading. I have an Xbox 360 that doesn't get as much use as I wish, and an alright PC I use mostly for WoW and Audiosurf, as well as the occasional freeware or flash game. I like hard science fiction, speculative fiction, cyberpunk, and space opera, as well as a little of classic fiction and satire for my books. As for my preferences in anime really enjoy romance, especially romantic comedy and harem and my heart has a large soft spot for mecha too. Oh, and if a show has a tsundere in it I will be twice as likely to watch it.

My other hobbies include Warhammer 40,000 (I play Chaos Space Marines, mostly Thousand Sons), watching speedruns (both tool-assisted and not), dicking around my local game store when I get the chance to go out there.

Most of my time, I have earbuds jammed into my ears, blasting music. Fairly recently, a friend introduced me to a virtual idol named Hatsune Miku. I had heard of her going about my usual internet business, and had seen a few vids of her songs (most notably her version of Ievan Polkka) and thought she was cute. He showed me the 3D PV for Love is War (on YouTube) and have since listened to mostly anything sung by her. (You can find a good thread with her albums on Mikuchan) Another large aspect of my musical taste is chiptune. This same friend also introduced me to 8bitpeoples before that. These two previous factors have caused me to go just about insane when I ordered my copy of 8-BIT PROPHET! My other musical tastes fall somewhere in between hardcore, triphop, house, hard rock, drum and bass, folk rock, a little rap... Really, though, I just tag my things Chiptune, Electronic, Rap, Rock, and Vocaloid for easy searching. If I had to suggest artists, check out she, Röyksopp, and/or Bassnectar.

How did I get into anime? That really is a tough one. When Eureka Seven just finished, a friend of mine dragged me to his house and we marathoned the whole thing. It was my first subbed show, and it really drew me towards mecha. Over the next few years I watched a ton of Gundam and a few other shows I can't remember. I found Lucky Star, and watched that way too many times total. I will leave that sad part of my life out... During my senior year in high school I stopped mostly everything and focused on that. About 6-ish months ago my modem crapped itself and my computer died (unrelated incidents) so the friend who introduced me to Miku and chiptunes threw Ergo Proxy and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni on my PC when he returned it after fixing it. Since then my daily routine has been 4-6 episodes per day, sometimes more if I am really enjoying myself.
