And why aren't you working in tech yet? Also, you're proving my point again; why get more than you need? Sure it's great that you can unicycle, breath fire, and tattoo the entire Lord's Prayer on a grain of rice, but what use does it have? Why hire someone BECAUSE they speak Japanese when you need it?
No point in learning just to say you did. That's like trying every hard drug on the face of the planet just to say that you did it.
And why would they need to hire someone who knows Japanese when no fucking person they associate with or do business with knows a lick of it except for "Toshiba"? I'd rather have 10 people who can speak Spanish than 20 that speak Greek, Japanese, and Korean. Like you said, it's about useage; but what's useage if there's nothing to use it ON?
As we both agree, it's about useage. Why take the time to learn it if you won't need it, use it regularly, and somehow grow from it?
Netflix costs, and sometimes Veoh and all that are just more convenient.
You could learn Latin. No one knows THAT fluently anymore >.>
I think you should learn for useage, not to be "unique" or know something totally pointless. If you want to know Japanese, do it so you can go to Japan. The subbed thing is pointless if you can't relate it to real life.
I should watch more too. I depend on netflix though, so I have to wait until it comes in.
We don't have Japanese in my school. We had Spanish, German, and French initially, and Latin was added this year. The old principal wanted to add Italian (because he was Italian >.> ), but he never got around to it. Spanish is more useful than German or French in America, so I just took that.
Also, I got a 100% on my oral! I am pretty sharp for a little Catie. :P Currently, I'm waiting Serial Experiments Lain. It's a mind f*ck for sure, but I recommend it for symbolism and meaning.
