I went into this with no prior knowledge and no expectations, all I knew was that it's kitties.
It's a very slow-paced movie, but a lot happens during the time span that we're given. The beginning sets out an interesting tone for the rest of the movie, and at times is boringly slow, however, this movie involves a great deal of symbolism that will likely leave you thinking after the movie has ended, rather than in the slower parts of the movie like I believe they intended.
The dream-like scenes were a little...more than they needed to be? I think the point of these scenes would have made more sense had they not been so long and contained so much irrelevant information. Particularily the silk worm sequence...it makes me feel like I'm missing the deeper meaning.
I still don't quite understand the conclusion, maybe I'm missing something here too? I swear this movie exists to make me feel dumb, both for not getting it, and for overthinking it.
So, I don't know, maybe I have to watch it a second time, or maybe it just wasn't written well. I honestly cannot tell.
If you like slow movies laced with symbolism this is for you, if not, I don't reccomend it.
