I love anime, papercraft and video games. I'm a 20 year-old Computer Science major, and a first-generation college student in my family. I'm 75% German, and the rest is mostly Irish with a dash of Native American. My dad and both my grandparents are truck drivers, and I think it's a wonderful profession. Stereotypes of dirty country folk in big rigs aside, driving a commercial truck or van across the country really is a great way to get paid for your travels!
I think anime is wonderful because it transcends so many cultural and social boundaries. It's a great conversation starter and I've made a lot of friends through watching and discussing anime.
While I have many hobbies that focus on the fine arts, papercraft is my favorite because it's something that anyone can get interested in. It's an economical hobby, and there are templates for every level of skill. There are so many papercrafts available today that one would be hard pressed to say that there isn't at least one template they would like to assemble and enjoy! Recently I've been getting into 3D modeling so that I can design my own templates.
Video games are something I've enjoyed since I was old enough to hold a controller, and by now they're an integral part of my personality. I have my dad to thank for introducing me to games. Video games are a way I release negative energy, so they're sort of a therapy for me that help maintain my levels of stress. Without being able to play games on a regular basis, I lose my way.
I have a wonderful boyfriend that I've been with for about three years now. We both enjoy many of the same anime and video games, and it makes getting along really easy. He majors in a tech field called ECT, which basically means he specializes in assembling hardware into electronic systems and robots. Between the two of us we could make great computers and network systems some day! There's something very special about being able to discuss all of your interests with your significant other and not having to worry about them getting bored or being unsupportive. I hope everyone finds someone special like that for themselves one day.
While both anime are a specialized comedic twist on the slice-of-life genre, they both prove to...
