I've liked animated things ever since I can remember. My first "proper" anime was Chobits, back in 2006. I also love movies, books, video games and TV shows, so I don't have as much time for anime as I'd want, but I try to at least keep up with the ongoing series. I'll watch anything that looks interesting. I don't have any preference in genre, the only exception being ecchi, which I try to avoid, though I can survive it if the series is really, really funny or interesting. (btw: asking me why I don't like ecchi is like asking a straight guy why he doesn't like yaoi) I guess I'm also getting too old and bitter for stereotypical shoujo series.
I'm not a sheep, so I won't rate something 5/5 just because everybody else does. On the other hand, I'm prepared to give high ratings to shows that might not objectively deserve it, but keep me fully entertained and make me forget reality exists.
I'm sorry for my English - it's not my first language.
