Well greek is my first language and I learned french almost simultaneously with english around middle high. I am currently finishing my spanish "proficiency" since I have a lot of time as a college student and hope to grab the chance for japanese in the future. It's not an otaku thing, it just occurred, I don't consider it that important.
I heard Martin is too melancholic, I don’t have a personal opinion yet although I’ve been meaning to read the “Dying of the light” book of his.
If you feel like exploring, you should see Angel Beats, I finished it a week ago and found it one of the best fantasy/drama anime ever. If you can cope with solo drama though I would totally suggest Clannad (especially After story), Rumbling Hearts and Air! I wasn’t a fun of the genre up to the moment I encountered these.
Thank you very much for your recommendations, I added them to "to be watched" list and gonna watch them at the very first chance. I was not aware of this anime, but judging by the high ratings, it must be a classic.
I noticed that you like sci-fi and fantasy, but most of the anime I could recommend, are already seen in your "watched list". I can only suggest a couple of books of that kind if you are interested since I am also a bookworm from times to times. I recently came across the trilogy of "A time's odyssey" from A.C. Clarke. Maybe you should give it a try unless you already have.
And your english is way too fine so don't even mention it. Feel free to comment any time about anime or books.

And yeah, anime songs (sometimes called Anisons, although i dont like how that spelling looks.. :S) can be called OST, which stands for Original Sound Track, which i guess just basically mean they were made for the anime particularly ^^
So do you enjoy listening to anime songs too? ^^ I LUV them so much!! XD I feel that a good OP/ED song can epically make a series more enjoyable ^^
Oh cool, you like Higurashi and Elfen Lied too! I thought both shows were wonderful because of how deep they were, and I've heard alot about School Days too, but I dont really feel motivated to watch it because i know of the "nice boat" ending... >.<
Btw when u watched School Days, did u know how it was going to end beforehand, or did the ending totally jump out and surprise u?
