Canaan was sort of confusing for me. Not the story, the production. I thought the concept was great, and the more I watched, the more I liked the story. But I was completely dissapointed with how it was done.
Most of my complaints are all personal preferrence, I'm sure there's plenty of people who liked it for a lot of the reasons I didn't. Honestly, other than the core story concept itself, there wasn't much I liked at all. The characters all bugged me in one way or another, the "humor" wasn't very funny, and the general feel of it didn't work for me. I didn't even like the animation style.
I'd never come across a show before this where I saw so much potential in the story, and disliked everything else about it.
It wasn't horrible--if it was I wouldn't have bothered finishing it. It was more like mediocre. It just constantly bugged me that I kept sitting there thinking of all the things that would have made it better (in my mind) if it had been done differently.
