I just finished watching the original Gunslinger Girl anime for the third time. It had been almost a year and a half since I last watched it.
Just as good as I remembered it. It's a shame they couldn't have made Il Teatrino like the first season.
I am, however, disappointed at how short it is. Sometimes I forget how much of the stuff I remember story-wise is actually from the manga, not the original anime. Some more comes through in Il Teatrino, but unfortunately that's a noticeable step down in quality from the original anime or the manga. It's not bad, it's just not as good.
I should be getting the Il Teatrino OVA in the mail in a few days, so I'm looking forward to checking that out.
I would seriously like to hurt whoever is responsible for more of the manga not being released in English. I imagine I could find scanned copies translated online, but I really prefer reading manga in it's proper printed form. If it weren't for the fact that it's doubtless loaded up with kanji, I'd probably just buy a Japanese copy and work harder on my Japanese until I could read it. But alas, kanji's a pretty big obstacle.
