Thanks a bunch! Don't worry about it, though, if it will be too much trouble. <3
Don't worry too much about anime length - I included them in the list without sequels in the mindset of not having 300 anime in the list. ^^ If I had included sequels/second/third series it was going to be way longer!
Wow! How many anime you watched! O_O
I am sure most people who look at my list have the same reaction. ^_^ I've seen a decent amount of anime, but very few classics! I haven't been watching mega-long, due to the fact that since I started I haven't constantly watched anime. Yes - I just thought I would set myself a challenge to see if I can get a lot of must-watch or recommended series watched, or even just ones I want to watch myself. Yeah, that would be great if you can be bothered!
quote: Great review, i feel the same way, maybe the animation part was a little too much (i've seen worse a few years back), if i had to add i'll say the story develops slow, for gods sake it's so boring that i watch it every 2-3 years because its SLOW, individual episodes progress the story as much as 1-2 minutes do in other anime, even in battles they talk and talk and then some flashbacks and then talk some more. It's annoying when i see reviews for One Piece and it's all 10's or 01's, fanboys and haters learn to see things for what they are One Piece is overrated end of the story.
yes I have to admit I guess I was too harsh on the animation, and after watching one-piece again I guess there is a very different type of animation... I previously said "they are consistently drawn bad" but I guess the truth is, that that's just how their state is. Same way in bleach all characters have long legs or how in pokemon everyone has vertical eyes. And after trying hard enough, I guess I can see the appeal, and I have to be objective in a review
"the story develops too slow" yes I admit, after watching again, the story goes too slow, and each and every single episode we get 5 minutes flashbacks etc plus the constant cheerings and all that drag things on and on, but that's not how the manga is. They added so many fillers and made the episodes drag much longer because they don't want the anime to catch up to the manga. I'd suggest, for you, read the manga, because it's 10 times easier to skip through the bullshit. Either that, or do what I do, and just put one-piece to play side-by-side with something else that you do... basically multi-task. Don't worry, the characters in one-piece will shout their lungs off if there is some important part that you need to know.
Also, you can easily watch it on youtube, unlike these fancy new 2010+ anime, because one-piece anime footage gets taken down a lot less (or there's more people uploading it?) so what I found was videos of 5 ish episodes without intro or outro, put together, and now on youtube you have the autoplay feature. Pretty neat, isn't it?
I started collecting the various CG series manga, as well, although I haven't read any of them yet.
Your enthusiasm for this is making me want to start a rewatch even sooner!!!
(So much anime to see, so little time in the day to do it!)
