Hana-Saku Iroha

on Oct 18, 2011

Hanasaku Iroha   Story (9/10) The story basically follows Ohana Matsumae who, after hearing that her mother is going on a midnight flit with a random boyfriend, has to go and work at an inn run by her strict and proper grandmother. This is a very, very good example how a slice of life/ drama anime should be produced and conveyed to a viewer. The day to day events are inspiring, exciting, informative about the numerous characters and sometimes you cannot help but seeing yourself in some of the situations Ohana finds herself in. This anime grabbed hold of me in the first episode I watched and... See full review

Genshiken

Story (9/10)

Many
people think that a storyline makes an anime brilliant; I am one of those
people. In Genshiken’s case that is not true, there is no underlying plot in
this anime. Mostly it revolves around the day to day life of the Japanese
otaku, which in my view is a brilliant way to draw in the typical anime

club to join, thus he stumbles upon Genshiken, which stands for the study of
the... See full review

Needless

on Jul 14, 2011

Needless Story (4.5/10) Twenty four episodes of misery. I hated each second of this completely irrelevant anime. Every aspect of this anime was brain numbing and hard to watch, wait, well not every aspect, the storyline was probably the best part of the story, but still it was very, very poorly thought out. The story immediately begins with a random fighting scene in which only one person survives, Cruz Schild, and is rescued by a priest named Adam Blade. The story is set in a post third world war where people who are called Needless who has weird super powers are born from a place called The Black Spot... See full review

Samurai Champloo

on Jul 14, 2011

Samurai Champloo   Story (7/10) I cannot really say that the storyline of Samurai Champloo is the main attraction of the anime, but it is almost never forgotten throughout and this is already a good grade in my books. Most animes these days just leave their storyline in the dust and just rambles on about any other subject it can get its grubby hands on. The story is basically about two completely different samurais that have to accompany a girl on a quest to find a samurai that smells of sunflowers. The story takes many twists and turns as they journey through Japan in search of the sunflower... See full review
