Okay, so for starters, I have played the original version of the visual novel, and have played through all of the available routes on that version. Now, the overall story of the visual novel is a heartwarming one, filled with many elements including friendship, hardship, and first love. In question to the anime and how it's adapting the story so far, I am a little concerned. For those of you who have played through the visual novel like I have, you will know that there will be some points within the story that will be quite challenging to adapt well into something that can be... read more
The story in Sanakrea is pretty original and adds a sort of... whacked out and comical spin on romance by adding the whole "zombie" concept to the mix. However, watching the series as it came it weekly couldn't have been more frustatrating than anything else, as it often jumped around and it seemed to add in filler or stary from the main story which was left at a natural cliffhanger. A masterpiece. Clannad ~After Story~ was easily the first anime that really moved me emotionally. I found myself laughing, crying, smiling, and raving over every minute that I watched. The story is well-done and clever. The characters are wonderfully crafted and develope appropriately with the story. The music is amazing, and sometime it just wants to make me cry, especially the insert "Chiisana Teronira" and the opening theme "Toki wo Kizuma Uta". There are plenty of emotional scenes that WILL make you cry. This is an anime that is a must see. You cannot skip Clannad ~After Story~... read more
I found that the story and characters were refreshing and new. However, the thing that held the series back was the lack of any real progressing in the story other than that of Kodaka and his memories of his childhood friend. The anime has a really open-ended conclusion, and that is of course due to the fact that the light novel series is still in progress, but I felt that they could've done better with the anime adaption. I'm definitely going to read the light novels now. If they make a second season, I'll gladly watch it, but I hope that it will have a more stronger story development.
