I am glad that you are enjoying "Ghost Hound". It is studio I.G's 20th anniversary production and a lot of thought was put into it. Some of the same people involved in "Lain" also worked in it and it really shows. It is best watched late at night with the lights out as it is extremely atmospheric and creepy at times.
Thanks for the recommendations, I am not very familiar with the Gundam franchise. 00 was the only Gundam related instalment I ever watched and I was planning to check out some of the other series, namely SEED while I wait for the second season.
By the way, I see that you have "Evangelion" in your faves, what do you think about the upcoming movies? Looking forward to them? "You are (not) Alone" was quite good, I thought, although it did not add anything new.

I need to grade my watched list, the reason why I have not done so far is because I often hesitate between what I deem is the quality of the anime in itself and how much I happened to enjoy it. The two criteria do not always coincide. I am not sure I can think of anything that can quite surpass "Kino's Journey" apart from "Haibane Renmei" which you have already seen. You seem to enjoy intelligent anime with something of a mind trip element to it, as such you may like "Ghost Hound": it is somewhat Lain-like in its surreal approach to the narrative if not as strange. Also, give "Paranoia Agent" a go, it may be one of Satoshi Kon's best achieved works thus far.
