Me:

Engineer, science enthusiats, walking compendium of useless information, AMV maker, hardcore geek.

Here's one of my AMVs. My channels are NeoBattousaiGX (inactive), CyberdarkVenom, and Kiripro (Kiripro2008 in the url).

Why I Love Anime:

It's a fantastic art form. It's not just cartoons. It's cartoons with significant depth that other kinds just don't pull off. For the most part it's the most realistic type of cartoon, albeit exaggerated in certain ways. Most cartoons use some kind of flat, tubey or bizarrely jagged style, giving people impossible body types, while most anime characters look like functional human beings. Even girls with gag-boobs like Shizuka from Highschool of the Dead or Naga from Slayers. :P

Also, anime is more of a story-telling medium than a simple entertainment medium. They often have stories and characters that allow a person to get invested more deeply than other types of animation. It's a lot easier to care about what happens to say, Tomoya Okazaki (Clannad), than it is to care about what happens to pretty much any given cartoon character.

My Anime Buying Policy:

I only buy the animes I really like, and only if they're available for a reasonable price. I'm very "try before I buy" to avoid wasting money. Pirate or stream first, buy later. If the show just isn't available, then I'm just going to pirate it. Their fault for not selling their product where willing consumers exist.

Dub or Sub?:

I prefer dubs for convenience, but if a dub is unfaithful to the original, has awful casting, both, or the show just isn't dubbed, then I'll watch it subbed. I'm just terrible about watching subbed anime in a timely manner. I can bang out a dub in one sitting while listening to it and doing something else if it's a short series, but subbed might take a few weeks just because of the attention it requires.

Top 10:

I had to leave out a few favorites that I really wanted to include, but...

  1. Sword Art Online
  2. Slayers
  3. Rurouni Kenshin
  4. Hellsing Ultimate
  5. High School of the Dead
  6. High School DxD
  7. Good Luck Girl
  8. B Gata H Kei - Yamada's First Time
  9. Rosario + Vampire
  10. Clannad (& After Story)

Dude! It's been over a year!

It's been a pretty busy one though. Hope you either get a notification that left you a comment or that you have a sudden urge to check your profile because of this :D

Anyway...where did we leave off...

Oh. Damn! I hadn't talked to you since I enlisted! Well I'll give ya a quick spin up.

Went to BMT in May 2012, which included a delicious gas chamber. My entire body, lungs included, were burning. Fun stuff though! I found it slightly soothing. (It was actually cleansing haha)

So then fastforward to July 2012 where I graduate. Continued training in Technical School, this was Aircrew Fundamentals. This one included an altitude chamber which essentially thinned out the air so we were deprived of oxygen, you know for fun. Seriously though, it was meant to show us symptoms of hypoxia. I disliked it, felt like I was doing serious harm to my body.

Graduated fundies then headed to California to study Russian at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at the Presidio of Monterey.

Long story short: The concept is simple; the execution is difficult. At least in that environment. I've never been that stressed out in my life for such a long period of time. I was there from Aug 2012 to March 2013, which I was reclassed into another career field at their suggestion and my discretion haha. Some things I got from DLI: Study aversion, TMJ, repressed Russian that resurfaces when I'm under stress (seriously).

The new job me and Crowe snatched was Airborne Mission Systems Specialist, which we went back to Lackland (BMT and Aircrew Fundies) for this Tech School. (I've known Crowe since 2nd week of BMT; he was studying Modern Standard Arabic. We've traveled everywhere together hah) Anyway, him and I kicked two people from the class so we could fit in hahaha comic relief oh and graduated there in late May 2013, went on to survival school in June 2013 (think of Bear Grylls mixed with that James Bond scene in Casino Royale) pretty awful. I have a picture of me on Facebook post field lol. We also had water survival...which was...super fun...but exhausting...we then went to Tinker AFB in July 2013 where we started DRG (more specific to our job, you see AMSS has 4 positions: CSO/CT/CDMT/ART

Pretty much I learned about radios and other comm systems on the AWACS (I'm a CSO) then started flying. Finally finished training in February this year.

Right meow I'm TDY. Once I get back I'm gonna go HAM (Hard as a MF lol) Gonna study my butt off so I can test for Staff Sergeant next year. I gotta study for two tests: PDG and SKT. The SKT is designed so that the average person would make 50/100 on it. I'm gonna ace that bitch! I gotta, since I'll only be a SrA for like 3 months.

In other words, right meow I am an Airman First Class (E-3). I'll be promoting to Senior Airman in November (E-4) but I will be eligible to test for Staff Sergeant as early as March next year. People who have time as a SrA longer than me have the edge (they literally get extra points) So I gotta do my best on these tests if I wanna get it!

I'm also going to take a class or two for my CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) fun stuff. Um....I'm gonna look int othe Junior Enlisted Council and becoming a Physical Training Leader. Maybe take up an extra curricular activity like joining the Softball Team or maybe track (I love love love sprinting)

Volunteer work too.

So what's new with you? :)

Sorry for the late reply! XD My craptop decided to die on me...I honestly think it is the battery, but whatev's.I'm using our ancient computer. Windows XP. Suitable name XP <---- face I make LOLThough I like XP better than Vista. Haven't tried Windows 7 yet.

Anyway I hope you get on this! I don't want to lose contact with you. You're very interesting and awesome and all that good stuff XD

I'll follow you on Twitter. :3

I'll also check out those books some time. :D

I hate writing when I'm in a hurry >_< I need to go to Walmart (It's like 11:30PM) and get a Mother's Day card! And thank you! I'll be shipping out on the 22nd. Past 5 days I've been a mess. Super anxiety/mental overload of all sorts of stuff...I'm good now though. Also, goodluck to you too!

Oh damn! That is excellent! :D Great job! Haha. So what do you do with all your extra spare time now?

Not sure how I feel about rain but I do love fog! Eerie fog rolling across the floor XD And mist :3

Oh yeah? What's your new YouTube name?

Ohhh I've never heard of those services! Haha my anime fix is on my shelf rofl I think I have some on this laptop too...

Yup! Three of them are 1/7 scale, four of them are 1/8 scale, and one of them is actually an action figure LOL It's a Revoltech action figure of Vash. It is the most posable toy I've ever seen. Seriously. It's so badass tho haha

Yeah I get that feel. Some of the Disney characters just seem a tad silly like Winnie the Pooh or 101 Dalmations. However, I feel some of them compliment the genre pretty well like Nightmare Before Christmas and Hurcules... among others. My love for the game is because it has to do with traveling to other universes which I find fascinating :3 Plus its underlying themes. Just so...beautiful to me.FF13 looks awesome! To be honest, the only FF game I have ever played was Crystal Chronicles lol. I've seen Advent Children tho :3 People are always complaining about sequels! If it's not one things it's something else.

I've seen the 1st episode of HSotD and read the first manga. I like the action and zombie awesomeness but the seemingly generous amount of fan service kinda shied me away from it...tho I did watch the scene with the slow-motion gainax bounce via rifle shots lmao I did enjoy that XD I'll be sure to check it out when I get the chance!Oooo now what kind of authors are they?  Some of those names sound familier. Honestly, I'm not quite an avid reader to the point of knowing great authors just yet. :3Most of my reading consists of browsing articles, TV Tropes, Cracked, or other stuffs. :3

Awesome, figured as much! :D

Yuussss it shouldn't be too difficult though. My main goal is to get into the AFOSI aka OSI which is what Brock Samson was in LOL (From Venture Bros., have you seen?)

I'm gonna get some sleep. I'd been sick for a few days. I feel it was from the over stimulation/stress at work coupled with the quick weather change/pressure change. Plus I'd been working out so my body had been more vulnerable. Bleh, sleep time!

Same here! So you graduated early or you've been taking college classes while simultaneously finishing high school? Either way is awesome! (Especially the former lol) Well good job man!

Well that was awkward. Parents wanted me to bring the trash bin in before it started raining. Thing is, I'm still in my pajamas...plus I threw on my mom's boots...which are polka-dotted. Luckily, I finished in the nick of time. It's down pouring relentlessly.

Anyway, let's see. Oh! I noticed you changed your profile. I should really do the same. I'm gonna read it after this lol :D

Hrm, what is FiOS? I have AT&T haha :P

Lot's of stuff! Where to begin. I've been collecting scale PVC figures. Not too many, just enough. I've learned to control myself haha.

I've been playing the Kingdom Hearts series. So far I am on RE:CoM.Been watching lots of anime. Finished School Rumble S2, Cromartie High School, and Suzuka, to name the most recents.

I've also been reading. Almost finished with the 2nd Haruhi Suzumiya novel. I have four more to read hah.Speaking of reading...I am highly interested in personality-types and the like. I've taken personality tests 3 times this year (and one 7-8 years ago) and have gotten the same type each time. It's facinating reading about yourself!

I'm an INFJ. I found a book on Introversion that came out recently called "Quiet: The Power Of Introverts In A World That Can't Stop Talking". It's a good read so far.

Other things have been interesting me too such as Dabrowski's Overexcitabilities, HSP, etc.

Also lot's of spiritual and exsitential stuff. XD

I've also been browsing TV Tropes and Cracked.com Haha good stuff.

Now for the big stuff:

Grandparent's had visited during the winter and had purchased iPad 2's. They love em.I'll be visiting friends in another town about 4 hours from here for a little over a week...because...

I will be shipping out for Military Basic Training on May 22nd this year.My AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code A.K.A. "job title") is 1A8X1, which means Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst Apprentice. I have signed up for 6 years, will make pay grade E-3 after 20 weeks of Tech School but be treated as if I'd been E-3 since graduation from BMT 20 weeks prior.

My over-all training/schooling will be approximately 2 years.

It'll be awesome! :D
