Top 10 Movies (with 2 honorable mentions...so top 12...)

Really not much to say about these without doing a full review (which I'm far too lazy and certainly not good enough of a writer to do). It also doesn't help that there's just not enough content to write about without spoiling everything. Great characters, great plots, AMAZING art styles (imminent gorgeous view) Just watch them. PS - Sorry for the redundancy, but they really are all amazing to look at...
1 The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Mamoru Hosoda film #1

Amazing film about three friends with different layers of complexity to their relationship. That in itself hits home enough for me to already love this film. As you could probably tell from the title, the main character gets the ability to travel time and ends up messing with her life to try and get things "perfect." This results in her purposefully and often inadvertently messing with the lives, emotions, and decisions of her friends as well to try and get them to work out how she wants. Soon she starts to realize just how deep the consequences of her meddling can be. This film is absolutely gorgeous (get ready to hear me say that about most films, Hosoda's especially). I was actually introduced to this film in another amazing AMV at Ohayocon. Take a look if you've got a minute.

2 Princess Mononoke

Princess Mononoke

The best Miyazaki movie by far. I shouldn't even have to tell you to watch Miyazaki movies.

3 Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

More of the same. Just as classy as the show with amazing fight sequences. Do I really need to tell you why you should watch more Cowboy Bebop?

4 Summer Wars

Summer Wars

Mamoru Hosoda film #2

The core theme is "family," so if that's something that is special to you this movie will resonate with you. Gorgeous animation and great characters. People complain and say it was a rip off of the Digimon movie, but I don't remember that movie and don't care.

5 5 Centimeters per Second

5 Centimeters per Second

SO. DAMN. GORGEOUS. This movie has something to say about relationships, and it may or may not resonate with you. It certainly was relevant to me, not unlike "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," which is probably why it was the only anime to ever make me cry. Yeah, it can be a tear-jerker.

6 Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 3: Rebellion

Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 3: Rebellion

Takes place after the end of the show (and the second movie). Very confusing and likes to play with your mind moreso than the show. Definitely had me in disbelief at certain points.

7 Akira

Akira

Nobody should have to tell you to watch Akira. You should have seen it by now. It's like the anime version of The Godfather in terms of the respect this thing gets in its field. Very dark and dirty animation style that you don't seem to see anymore.

8 Sword of the Stranger

Sword of the Stranger

Some of the best fight sequences I have ever seen in anime. Gorgeous film.

9 Wolf Children

Wolf Children

Mamoru Hosoda film #3 - HATTRICK!

This movie's an emotional rollercoaster. Great characters with different ways of handling their path down life. Obligatory gorgeous...

10 The Garden of Words

The Garden of Words

Made by the creators of "5 Centimeters Per Second," so you know it's probably going to be emotional too. Absolutely gorgeous animation with interesting characters interactions.

11 Dragon Ball Z Movie 8: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan

Dragon Ball Z Movie 8: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan

Not much to say here. You either love DBZ or you hate it. Best of all the movies because Broly is awesome. Ending's a bit "meh," but what can you do? You didn't come to DBZ for things to make sense.

12 Little Witch Academia

Little Witch Academia

Not really a movie, but I'm counting it anyways so shut up. Cute, "fun for the whole family" style movie with great characters and an enchanting plot. Gorgeous animation. Goin' back to my man Demo on this one for an actual review...

PS - The second one just came out, and it's pretty much just as good. Watch that too.
