Thanks for getting back to me, Riven.
I can understand that Miyazaki's personality defects might be off putting, but really for me when it comes to creative types, unless they push very particularly buttons with me I can forgive that kind of stuff if they make good work, which I think we both can agree is the case with Miyazaki.
That said I don't think I can agree with Miyazaki "not being anime" or "not belonging in the anime industry." What appeals to me about anime is that it's taken more seriously then the modern American animation industry and the diversity. So as far as I'm concerned if your talented and make good work (and your working in Japan), you "belong" in anime.
Maybe I've just missed something but I don't see how Miyazaki is holding anything back. I'd like to know if you know.

I'm curious, why do you have Hayao Miyazaki listed as someone you hate, yet you gave at least 3 of his movies perfect scores? Do you just dislike him personally and like his work, or is it something else?
