I'm a busy student living in Seattle Washington. Anime and Video Games are both things I enjoy in varying quatities, but I also enjoy surfing, spelunking, hiking and anything else I can afford. My anime interests are usually exhausted in large quantities over short, segregated periods of time; however, even if I'm not presently watching anime I don't mind taking time to rate, discuss, or recommend series or movies. My love for anime started with the shounen and mecha genres but I've lately enjoyed romance, drama, comedy, and science fiction affiliated series. Even though my interests have broadened and my critiques harshened I still appreciate anything with a decent narrative and likeable characters. I especially appreciate anime with exceptional aspects that break my genre barriers and allow me to ignore those 'Ecchi", 'Magic Girl', and other tags that often raise a flag-of-avoidance. I'm always open to give and recieve recommendations so feel free to ask me any questions or leave any comments. Additionally, my favorite colors are red and light blue, and I like most edible food besides fish.

Personal Rating Scale:

0-2.5: Drop-worthy anime with too many nagging flaws to make up for whatever positive elements are present.

3.0: Mediocre anime with more positive than negative elements.

3.5-4.0: Anime that's an overall pleasure to watch.

4.5: My personal favorite series or movies that deserve top-ten positions.

5.0: It's hard for me to give anything a perfect score.

Thank you for the welcome! To answer your question, yes, I do write poems about the ocean sometimes.

Well, in my biased opinion, NGE is probably one of the best Mech anime ever. It's mind-rapey, but to me it's a beautiful analysis of the human condition. I have the complete collection - Platinum edition of the series, special editions of all 3 movies and the directors cut DVDs of the last 4 episodes. "End of Evangelion" was what the director had originially wanted to do with the end of the TV series, unfortuantely they had a massive budget cut and had to rush to finish the series. So when Anno got the chance to do a movie, he was all over it. Personally, I LOVE the new movie series. The rebuild begins as a simple remake of the series but it has the added joy of being remastered on a high budget and having additional time for character development. The new characters that have been added create a lot more depth than was available in the original series and just make the universe more rich and real as far as I'm concerned. In short, I highly recommend NGE and the rebuild series. Also, my boyfriend praises your tastes in gundam models but he says; "Which version of Tallgeese?" (He likes Tallgeese 2 the best) and he says, a friend of his from gundamnation reccomends getting a perfect or master grade or strike freedom (even though it is more expensive) because of the level of extras and articulation. He also says, if you do get a master grade, do a few smaller models before you try to takle it as they're pretty daunting. P.s. Thankfully it was mostly mech characters porn as opposed to the mechs themselves.... but you never know what you might find online O.o;

Model trains? Awsome. My cousin used to do them but he got bored of them and moved on to something else :/

Well if you want to give gunpla a go, check out gundam nation and milanoo, their kits are generally pretty cheaply priced. And, I'm in total agreement. Anything Mecha is awesome (though Mecha hentai tends to be a little lacklustre).That figure is absolutely gorgeous! it's a shame I don't know the fandom otherwise she'd definitely be in my collection. The scantily clad girl figs can be really annoying. I found out the other day that one company has released a nude Rei Ayanami (NGE) figure... why? it seems daft to me.

As for my collection... I currently own 2 Evangelion R-Type minis, 2 different plugsuit versions of Mari 'Illustrious' Makinami (NGE2), Unit 05 (NGE2), Jigen and Lupin (Lupin III), a Tron Lightcycle and my most treasured figure of all.. a solid PVC Kaworu Nagisa holding a black kitten. I'll post pictures of them all in my next blog :)

...As you can probably tell, I have a large soft spot for Evangelion ^.^;

I'm a massive anime figure collector. and yeah, they can be very expensive, you just have to know where to look a lot of the time. You should see what you can get on ebay (that's where most of mine came from on the cheap). Out of intrest, if you could get one, what would you get? i.e. what series/character?

The models I collect come pre-assembled and painted but my boyfriend collects Gunpla, which are Gundam models which you build and paint yourself. I'd give one a go but my painting skills aren't quite up to scratch yet.
