Princess Lover!

May 5, 2010

Princess Lover -- Originally an Eroge (Erotic Visual Novel), Princess Lover was one of those typical settings where the main character's world suddenly changes, as he is cast out into a totally new society, both at home as well as outside and inside of school life. However, Princess Lover, has one thing that most other adaptions fail to present. A likeable main character, namely the protagonist.Story - 8/10The city is in an uproar as rich people are being targeted by unknown assaliants. A fateful day, unbeknownst to Teppei, is the day where he would see his parents last time. With the rather dramatic death... See full review

My Bride is a Mermaid

Apr 25, 2010

Seto no Hanayome has grown to be one of my favourite anime over the years. This is mainly to the fact that music has a large part in it, along with songs and great humor. There's a limited amount of ecchiness, which is overshadowed by the sarcastic remarks of the characters and an entertaining episodical plot. While the storyline of the anime has a less visible or original background plot, it is certainly not one without merrit. Being able to follow the developing love story of the two main characters is both rewarding as well as funny, while they are both tossed around in the realm of mermen, but a yakuza... Magikano

Apr 25, 2010

Magic, witches, harem and ecchiness. It's certainly not the first time that we have had this coupling of genres, nor the last.Even though the anime recieved a mediocre rating, it has been able to keep me watching to the very end. No where through it's 13 episodes of mediocreness have I expected the anime to be more than it appeared to be in Episode 1. While the episodical plot slowly advances towards the climax and the release of the protagonists "true" powers, the ending doesn't come as a big surprise. However predictable the series were, the fact remains that the story and the anime... See full review

Dance in the Vampire Bund

Apr 23, 2010

Dance in the Vampire Bund approaches a rather "abused" genre and mythology in a new way. Taking ideas from movies such as Underworld, Dracula and Van Helsing, makes Dance in the Vampire Bund certainly feel like a cinematic experience. The composition of colors and excellent editing made an anime series seem like an actual animated movie. Accompanied by excellent voice acting by young voice talent Aoi Yuuki (Mina Tepes) and veterans Yuichi Nakamura (Akira Kaburagi) and Chiwa Saitou (Yuki Saegusa) the script succeeds at giving life to an otherwise lifeless manga tale. Great 3D use... See full review

Bakemonogatari

Apr 28, 2010

StoryOpening with a pantsu shot of a certain girl, the first twenty seconds feel like your typical ecchi anime. I quickly ate those words right up where they came from, as I saw how the calm and idyllic scene changed into that of blood, violence and death. I was taken aback by this magnificent juggle of mood and scenery, which made sure that my eyes only existed to keep watching. In a seemingly immense spiral building a girl slips and falls, to her surprise only to be caught by a boy who's next thought was her weight. This boy, Araragi Koyomi, a third year student at Naoetsu Private High School is an average... See full review
