Recently returned to anime-planet, from a period of relative inactivity. I'm not sure excatly how active I'll be, but at the very least I update my profile and feed to some degree. I'll also probably update my old reviews, as my english language ability has improved significantly, although this isn't a massive project (due to my meagre number of reviews) it is my first step back into this community.

If you do want to get my opinion on anime, my star ratings are up to date and constantly under scrutiny/adjusment as the years progress and as new anime come out. As such they present a better representation of how rate anime than my reviews ever will (since you know I don't really write them anymore).

I found your username when I was browsing some anime. You made a recommendation. It was Clannad and K-on. :)

Hello! Nice to meet you, too. Thanks for being my friend. :)

I might sound weird, too. :P

Yes, the reason I rate overall differently is because it's not an average of scores. It represents the overall impact and effectiveness of the series, not just a lump sum of its individual parts. You may throw strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and apples into a blender for a smoothie, but the final taste isn't quantifiable as 25% of each fruit - it varies on a lot of different factors (ie did you use spoiled, canned, or fresh fruit). The same principle applies with reviewing.

Sure! :D We seem to have very similar tastes :D My anime list would be bigger but I only count anime I've watched since about a year and a half ago, which was when I actually got into anime :3

Regardless, I'm Jordan :D

1. It's quite possible that experienced watchers will enjoy Angel Beats. I just think the overall probability of enjoyment will decrease sharply.

2. My overall ratings are never based on the average rating. Animation and Sound are much less important to me than story and characters, so if those 2 are low scores, the overall score will always be low as well.
