Score 7.5/10

Story: This and HxH rank among my favorite shounen shows. Simply put, the reason for this is that emphasis is not only placed on brute strength, but a fragile battle of the human heart. That's not to say that this is a super emotional series, but that the disicipline to control your power is...

Both Nausicaa and Nadia share elements of adventure, mystery, flight, nature, and a strong female lead. Hideaki Anno worked under Hayao Miyazaki during the production of Nausicaa, where his talents were first recognized. It is for these reasons that I believe both series share common themes and have a very strong female character up front. If you're into adventure, prominence of nature, flight, lots of humor with hints of romance, you have to check out Nadia: Secret Of Blue Water!

I am stalled on NGE, lol. I was watching LOTGH, however, the episodes I had didn't have English subs so I stalled that too. :P I think both series are awesome, in their own right. NGE for its drama, the hardships characters must endure, and the relationships between the characters themselves. I think LOTGH is awesome because its plotting is mammoth with great music to go along to each scene, and each battle is like a game of chess. We see one faction trying to one up the other, but every action has a consequence too. We see people lead groups and then their true nature within the aftermath.

Yo, I haven't quite finished Eva yet (stalled it for a while). But once I finish the series, I'll move on to the new movies.  I really love Evangelion. A series doesn't need to be perfect, it needs to bring something original to the table and be fun, as well as capture the theme it is set to capture. I love the characters in Evangelion and they are hands down what makes the series. Misato/Shinji are really my favorites, but you can find something likeable in almost everyone (though some will piss you off). And that's what makes Eva so fascinating. It makes its characters more realistic and dramatic like life itself, rather than typical mecha shows where teenagers are super killers. Instead it puts normal people into terrible situations and circumstances and tests their mental fortitude. The Evas are just a mirror of the chaos. I love watching the characters interact, in fact, I may rewatch it sometime.  The characters have depth, personality, and strengths/weaknesses that anybody could identify with in most cases. The plot itself may have some weakpoints, but if you enjoy the characterization, it's a blast.
