Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

Jul 7, 2023

Finally, a good isekai for once. Great as a comedy, parodying lots of hero summon tropes, and also has a twist and a well-made serious ending. One reviewer thinks it ruined the story, but I think it was good. Maybe it's because it ruined his expectations (not sure, I didn't bother reading). Overall, the plot isn't very imaginative (as I said, parody + twist + ending), but it is solid. Animation is decent. No complaints. Soundtrack is picked well, though it doesn't overwhelm. Characters should be seen as comedic only, and play this role very well (I especially enjoyed the goddess being the butt of the... See full review

Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army

Jul 4, 2023

Sigh, another isekai garbage. Well, okay, mediocre stuff, let's call it. Spoilers ahead. It's pretty much the usual Gary Stu trope of dull MC actually being amazing, except he's not really. Well, this one is at least useful if you take away his powers. And he's not isekai'd, he's native. Another difference, it's not a harem and he has a kid fast. The demons' perspective in humans vs demons is a bit fresh, but not actually. Honestly, the only part I enjoyed was mc's inner monologue (kind of similar to Mushoku Tensei, good job, voice actor). Otherwise it's all isekai tropes minus those related to people... See full review

The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far

Jun 23, 2023

Kind of garbage, but has good points. The setting is cliche of cliche. Passable but nothing special. Plus one point for comedy. The king scolding the protagonist is hilarious. They picked an excellent voice for him, or should I say that the voice actor did an excellent job for this role. Animation is okay. Nothing to pick a bone with, and also nothing to marvel at. Sound is nothing special. I don't care about OP and ED as I always skip those. Soundtrack is garbage but fits the anime (I mean, not because it's garbage - though there's that too - but because it fits the atmosphere of a silly... See full review

Black Summoner

Sep 30, 2022

Go read the manga it was adapted from (well, there's a light novel too, but I haven't read it, so I'll pretend manga was the source material). So as you can perhaps infer from my opening remark, I first read the manga (which I enjoyed a lot), and then decided to see the adaptation since it came out. Well, it was okay in some aspects, but a big disappointment in some others. I really recommend the manga. The anime? Not really. I'll try to keep this review relatively short (you'll notice, but I'm bad at it, sorry) while giving a general summary. Story: 3/10 The plot is as unoriginal as it gets... See full review

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom: Part II

Sep 28, 2022

So, in the end I've decided to watch this season after the disappointing first one. This time, I abandoned all my expectations brought about by the hope around the source material (light novel), and just decided to see if at least the show got better in terms of romance/harem/characters. The short answer is yes, the show did get better. Unfortunately, the full answer is: the show did get better, but not much. It doesn't really make the first season worth watching. This time, I'll write a shorter review that focuses on two things: comparing this season with the previous one and a few words about this... See full review

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom

Sep 26, 2022

I had considerable expectations for this series when I started watching it.  The whole kingdom building/management thing is to my taste. There was a lot of good word for the novel going around. I didn't feel like reading it, but I decided to give the anime version a try: if the novel is good, the anime can't be trashy (well, Arifureta kind of violated this rule, but that was mostly graphically, plus I don't acknowledge Arifureta past the first dungeon arc anyway). Well, what a surprise it was - that this acclaimed series turned out to be considerable garbage. To be exact, it's one of those series... See full review

The Misfit of Demon King Academy

Nov 16, 2020

Disclaimer: I haven't read the light novel. Disclaimer2: Minor spoilers in the review. TLDR: If you want to watch something casual and don't mind the depth of the story, you can go ahead. If you want something something with more depth, or actually making proper sense, don't bother. Originally, I wasn't really going to watch this (and then I was reluctant to finish it), but seeing some hype around it, I decided to try. Since there was some hype around it, I decided to leave a review too. First, the story. If I were to sum it up briefly, it's about a demon lord who reincarnated in the distant... See full review

Blood Blockade Battlefront

Jul 29, 2016

Hello, everyone! I don't usually write reviews, but because the other reviews for this anime are somewhat confusing (as in, different in their opinions), I decided to give it a try. I thought I'd try to give community a clearer picture. Now, let me first mention that I've watched and read so much I'm quite picky about my "food". As such, there are usually two types of anime I fancy: those masterpieces with epic characters, epic plot, unpredictable (but not unpredictable because, but rather unpredictable in a good, perfectly logical, way), with proper drama etc. A good example of this would be...
