The story for this instalment seems to be trying to throw as many twists and turns at you as possible. Whilst some of these work very well, others will have you scratching your head in disbelief. There is some closure to most things that have been left hanging and it does all come to a head nicely too.
The animation, normally, is as good as the other series. In the large battle sequences it is let down a little. The usual attention to detail has had to be let slip a little when it comes to these sweeping, epic battles and you will notice that. In a way its downfall was how good it was.
The music is very good, as usual. There are some new tracks as well. These follow the same style as the others and are good. The vocal acting is ok, but more could have been done here to make certain twists more believable.
Character-wise, the show has slid back to the standard in the original. There is development and growth but there are some moments so do not fit in with everything you have watched so far. There is not a smooth transition so you get used to it either. It just happens and you are forced to accept it.
If you have watched the other 2 then you will probably watch this regardless of what anyone says, just to see if it actually finishes, which it does so that’s nice. Things are tied up well but the whole series may sit a little uneasily with you.
