Great reworking of a classic, the future setting is a little strange in places. It takes a familiar story and fills it out. This is a must see for samurai anime fans and is very well written.
Well drawn and designed characters. There are some very nice sequences. The quality drops off towards the end hindering it form a higher score.
The voices are well done, but the best thing about the sound is the music. Using traditional instruments in modern music brilliantly mirrors the shows plot and premise
These all fit the originals well, and there is some excellent background and development. If you have watched the original film then these will be familiar to you, but because of how much time there is at hand each character comes that little bit more to life. There is that little bit more development and you connect with all the characters.
Excellent. This is a good anime and I will not limit it to just a good example of a genre. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys good storytelling.
