If the first 15 seconds of this anime was any indication, it was that Higurashi no Naku Koro ni was going to be one heck of a ride.   Story: The story (as explained in the synopsis of the page), introduces Keiichi Maebara as he meets new friends such as Mion/Shion Sonozaki, Rena Ryuugu, Rika Furude, Satoko Hojo, and others in the town of Hinamizawa, a fictional rural town based off the actual Shirakawa-go town in Japan.
