The epitome of all that is wrong with Mecha shows, this one made errors beyond that even... Story: OK, so there was a story here, but they glossed it over the whole way, half the time I wasn't really sure what I was watching except a poorly executed romance of the three kindoms clone, complete with both science and magic. They never really explain what's going on very well and as a result you feel next to nothing for or against any of the characters. Animation: At the very start I was reminded of 80's style animation, not the good kind. Choppy, washed out with little to no detail what so ever. Really... See full review

Mardock Scramble: The First Compression

Sep 28, 2013

I went into this movie without a clue about it except it's future setting and I must say the first 5 minutes of the movie really set the tone for the whole thing. Very blunt and graphic progression through out. Don't let my "grim" account of it in no way shade my enjoyment of this title. I decided not to do a full on review yet simply because I haven't seen the 3rd (and what I assume to be the final) movie in this series. And a such, to me, the story and experience is yet incomplete. Not that I shy from giving reviews on an incomplete viewing but I have to have very strong feelings about the... See full review

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit

My first time watching this anime years ago instantly solidified itself as one of my top 5 all time favorites and easily one of the best anime ever made from my point of view. I just sat down to re-watch it in the English dubbed version and was not disappointed in the least. Story: As far as stories go you will be hard pressed to find one better written and presented in such a tidy and well rounded package as this. It keeps you guessing all the while and at the same time making you feel like part of the show as things progress. You find yourself truly enjoying the adventure even during the slowest parts... Master of Martial Hearts

Just picking anime at random can pretty much be equated to playing roulette, you got a pretty slim chance at winning but boy howdy can you find some glorious flops. Sadly this title falls into that category. Story: There really wasn't much of an actual story here, at least not until you get to the final ep, mostly it's just dealing with some mysterious organization that makes girls fight each other in order to gain something that will grant their wish. Cliche, full of holes, and lacking much of anything at all. It amazes me what production companies will put out for the viewers and think it'll sell just... See full review

Maria Holic

Nov 10, 2010

Story: Essentially there wasn't one... girl loves girls, has noes bleeds a lot, and tortured by a boy in drag most of the time. It sounds great on paper but when its put to actual practice it seems to fall way short of any mark I could label as good. The story basically went no where after ep1, mainly just introducing various bishi characters and putting the protagonist through various odd situations that made her nose bleed due to her being a lesbian and surrounded by beautiful women in skin tight clothing. Animation: This had a very ... dramatic flair and what I'd call unique if I hadn't seen xxxHolic or... See full review
