There's some meat to this story but it wasn't anything to be wholly impressed with. I enjoyed it for it's simplicity and generally well scripted plot. At only 7 eps things move along quickly so it's not something that gives you a chance to get bored with.
What can I say, this was your typical late 80's horrid anime; repetitive, poor congruency, and largely forgettable.
There wasn't much to the sounds, the music was pretty bad but I didn't pay a lot of attention to it. The sound effects worked, there wasn't anything out of place or in bad taste/form.
Nothing spectacular here either, there were none that annoyed me, and some of them were actually quite funny. I suppose some might find annoyance with their stupidity or denseness but I just found it something to point and laugh at. IE: hmm, land is over run with evil beasts and magic, hero comes across destroyed village and asks "what happened here?" Duh... I'll give you 3 guesses and if you don't get it in the first one you epic fail. There were several instances like that or on par with it at least, just something you facepalm to or point and laugh at.
Honestly, I think I over rated this one since it's really nothing to write home about and honestly it was barely worth watching, but at only 7 eps I didn't feel like I wasted a lot of time. I laughed, it entertained me for a few hrs, and I was left semi-satisfied with it's ending. If ya have nothing better to watch and have some spare time, give it a try.
