My first responce after finishing it was "OMG, THIS WAS EPIC!" and it was! Thats really the only word for it! the castle's design blew my mind, how Miyazaki has the patience to sketch and draw all that out is beyond my imagination. every little detail and tint and stain on the metal of the castle was perfect. And if you look closer you can see a couple different faces in it. Amazing, simply amazing. The characters were so wonderful and imaginative and they caught your hearts immidiatly. Howl was brilliant and the way Miyazaki portrayed him as a wimp and a coward and a gentleman was better than any other prince-like character that Disney or Pixar could ever do. Sophie was lovely and believable, I for one, as im sure many other young woman can aswell, can really ralate to her. Even though we as an audience see her as beautiful, she really doesnt see herself as that until someone else sees it and loves her for not just her beauty, but her heart. And Calsifer (sp?) is simply fantastic and hilarious. His wise cracks keep you giggling even in the saddest situations. And as much as i hate the Wicked Witch of the Waste i have to give credit to the engish voice-over, who did a fine job of making her hateable. And Turniphead was compleatly lovable and sweet, the releif in sad moments with Sophie.
All in all, the english version of Howl's Moving Castle was phenominal, a film I'll treasure for the rest of my life. (And may i add that Howl's voice is sexy beyond beleif?) I strongly recommend it for all ages.
