Well, when I was in 7th grade in the fall of 2003, my best friend made the correct choice in pilfering a complete anime series from his older brother. He had always heard his brother and his friends raving about the series, from the music to the English voice overs. So we gave it a try. Cowboy Bebop and, anime in general, had me after the blazing intro Tank!. It sounds stupid but I became much more enveloped in Cowboy Bebop than any tv show or movie I had ever seen before. That series was the perfect introduction into watching and collecting anime and I soon began relying on my friend's brother for more recommendations. Ghost in the Shell (the first movie), Trigun, and Outlaw Star followed quickly behind Cowboy Bebop and from there I began to expand my tastes.
Along with Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo followed into the ranks of my favorite anime (notice a trend of directors there? :)) and Ghost in the Shell after that.
Well, it has been a couple years since I last watched any series in depth (college has a way of draining your time and life away), but I'm excited to get back into the swing of things starting with a re-run of Black Lagoon (seasons 1&2, it is one of my favorites afterall) and RahXephon. I look forward to the series to come :).
