Good LGBT+ Relationships (Anime)

My quest to find anime that treats LGBT characters and relationships with respect and crafts great romances.
1 Yuri!!! on Ice

Yuri!!! on Ice

The best romance I have been exposed to in entertainment media. Evolves so naturally and respectfully (not shying away from being a little sexy but doing it with tact) and can only be described as absolutely beautiful. Embedded so well within the overall story and the sports anime format. The characters hold their own outside of the relationship as well as strong individuals.

2 No. 6

No. 6

Another well-embedded and powerful relationship (even moreso in the light novel and manga). The romance is by no means the sole focus of the story but the profound relationship between the two protagonists is at its core. A fantastic dystopic story with complex themes overall.

3 Doukyuusei

Doukyuusei

So pure, simple and sweet. Is aware of its romantic cliches (in fact, they are intended) but breathes new life into them. The epitome of a great, heart-warming romance film, in my humble opinion. My only complaint is that it isn't longer and I would love to see the sequel animated as well.

This Boy Caught a Merman

Stunning art style (watercolour/collage influence). Simple, sweet and satisfying with a beautiful emotional connection and mutual support (as with other works in the Kono Danshi series).

5 This Boy is a Professional Wizard

This Boy is a Professional Wizard

Again, absolutely gorgeous art style and respectful and supportive relationship. The only problem is that the pacing is a little rushed (I suppose it's the price to be paid for such breathtaking visuals).

6 Vassalord.

Vassalord.

Good overall but not nearly long enough. I'm sure there is more development in plot and in relationships in the manga, seeing as this is a companion OVA.
