OST stands for Original SoundTrack, and it basically refers to the music in something. I am using this to refer to any song played in an anime (I'm trying to disregard OP and ED, due to the fact that those are separate blog posts). I'm trying to limit this to one OST per anime, but for some, I probably will include two. (Two is the maximum, though.) The order is as follows: Name of song ("Anime"). And the comments will go... (*flips coin*) underneath the video! :D
As with all my Best Whatever... posts, this is ongoing.
Creepy and hauntingly beautiful. (Lyrics: TROLOLOLOLOLOLO--)
Departure ("Rurouni Kenshin").
The beginning almost sounds like trumpets... (I spent a short amount of time making horrible noises with my cornet, so it's kind of touching.)
Black Lilliana ("Umineko no Naku Koro ni").
(When I mentioned how I might want to choose 50 OST from one anime, "Umineko" was in my mind.) <3 <3 <3.
Bernkastel's Theme--The Executioner ("Umineko no Naku Koro ni").
GTFO, Takano-san. Trollkastel has arrived.
Mukunaru Shinshiyoku ("Higurashi no Naku Koro ni").
"Higurashi" and "Umineko" have the best OST of anything. Must be some sort of sign. (To anime studios--horror, gore, mindf*ckityness, torture, repeat storylines and crossovers make for kickass OST!)
Kikai ("Higurashi no Naku Koro ni").
You know, you should listen to this at night. With all the lights off. Everyone is asleep. It's quiet, except for you listening to this. You turn it off and head to bed. You stop suddenly and hear one extra footstep... sorry. I'm getting a little carried away here. (Actually, go watch the whole series like this.)
Allen Walker ("D. Gray-Man").
Not the best, certainly (it's not even NEAR "Higurashi" or "Umineko"), but a cool song nonetheless. Oh, and watch this in fullscreen so you can see the picture of Allen the Pirate. XD
Contractor ("Pandora Hearts").
There is so much going on here, but it works!
Si Deus me Relinquit ("Kuroshitsuji").
I'm not going to put the lyrics here (maybe later...), but you might want to find them.
April Fool ("XXXHolic").
It reminds me of a Tim Burton movie--it's lighthearted and fun and creepy and disturbing, all at the same time.
I Talk to the Rain ("Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle").
The Master ("Code Geass").
The only thing which made this even more epic than it should have been? When I found this video on YouTube, LELOUCH VI BRITANNIA HIMSELF HAD APPEARED. He commented on the video. Life=complete.
Light's Theme ("Death Note").
I've decided to pay tribute to the best cat-and-mouse game in anime--Yagami Light VS. L.
L's Theme ("Death Note").
Death the Kid's Theme--Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Have a Nice Dream ("Soul Eater").
Well, how could I NOT include this?!
Akai Yoru--Red Waltz ("11eyes").
You know, if there's one thing "11eyes" did well, it's the music. I love this OST.
That's all for now, folks! I'll try to add more!
