Danchigai

on Jan 21, 2016

I started watching this series on a whim because it was short and needed something to watch while on the bus, which aren't long enough to let me watch a full length episode properly. Like any series that's 4 minutes long, it suffers a lot in the story department due to it's length and the characters aren't well developed. Of course not everything was bad or below average, the animation was quite pretty and the characters were well drawn. Also the voice acting helped to make them look even cuter (the twins are so cute Rena Ryuuguu would want... See full review

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san

on Jan 8, 2016

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a sucker for Shoujo-ai/yuri series and I'm attracted to this genre as much as a bear is attracted to honey, or a fujoshi to yaoi. After getting to know this anime I decided that I wasn't going to just watch it but also review it! So here I am, leaving my impressions about this anime. As expected from a show whose episodes are no longer than 4 minutes (which also happens to be an adaptation of a 4-koma) there's not much story, just enough to get the setting ready and let the characters do the rest. Speaking of the... Black Rock Shooter

on Jan 8, 2016

Back when I started this OVA in 2010 I wondered whether this was going to be a good OVA or just an excuse to cash in on Black★Rock Shooter's popularity. Curious to know what I thought about it? Then go ahead and continue reading. This OVA had the potential to be a good one, but it had some very big issues that made me not enjoy it. For starters the plot is very confusing. Why is Black Rock Shooter fighting Dead Master? What is their relation with those middle school student? What's going on? None of those questions get answered and instead the viewer is left puzzled. Another... See full review

Yuru Yuri

on Dec 24, 2015

Secret Santa 2015 Review I've been planning to watch this show for a long time ad the event was the final push I needed to start watching it. Here's what I thought about it: Yuru Yuri is basically a "cute girls doing cute things" kind of show, which means there's no overarching plot and it ultimately depends on the characters and their hijinks. Sadly it takes a lot of time to actually get funny (in my case I started to enjoy it from episode 6 onward). To make matters worse, the mood changed completely in the penultimate episode and added some unnecessary drama that didn't last... See full review

Pretear

on Dec 24, 2014

Secret Santa 2014 review Pretear is a story about Himeno Awayuki, a girl whose father has remarried a rich woman, and is rejected by her stepsisters. As if that wasn’t enough for her she meets the Liefe knights and learns she’s a Pretear, a magical girl whose duty is to help the aforementioned knights preventing Fenrir to absorb the life energy of all the living things. It follows a monster of the week formula for half its duration, which for me was the worst part of the series, until the plot starts to thicken and we start to learn more and more about the characters, as well as Fenrir’s... Golden Boy

on Dec 24, 2013

Secret Santa 2013 review Golden Boy tells the story of a 25 yr old perverted guy named Kintaro Oe, who is a dropout of the law school because he mastered the whole curriculum in one year, and now he’s doing a variety of jobs and meeting a wide variety of women (going from a Shrinking Violet to a woman who loves her bike “a bit too much”. The episodic structure of the series makes it a bit repetitive, since the only thing that changes in the episodes are the job, the girls and the circumstances around them.  That doesn’t mean it’s boring, actually it’s quite... Chobits

on Dec 24, 2012

Secret Santa 2012 Review I have been thinking on watching this for a while, but I either procrastinated on doing it or I jurt wasn't in the mood for it. That's until someone rec'd me to watch it in the Secret Santa event, which gave me a reason to watch it, and I'm glad I did it. Story: When one read Chobits’ premise the first thing one thinks is that it’s your typical anime where the pervert male lead finds a woman who ends up living in his house. But the truth is that it’s quite different than what one expects, and not just because the female lead is an android who can’t... See full review

Battle Arena Toshinden

on Aug 26, 2011

Story:  It's plot is almost non existant and it's just an excuse to show fights, fights and more fights. It can be summed up by saying "an evil organization goes after the participants of a martial arts contest, and then the participants join forces and suceed at defeating the organization" without missing any important detail (and it's not a spoiler becuase it's totally predictable). Animation and sound: Despite being the strongest point of the OVA, the animation was mediocre. The music is pretty much forgettable.  Characters: As you can imagine after reading the story part... King of Thorn

on Mar 2, 2011

I watched this movie some months ago, so I'd probably miss some details on this review. I haven't read the manga so I'm no going to compare it with the manga (which as far as I know is better than the movie). Story I found the story quite interesting and well executioned. The plot revolves about a virus called "Medusa" which almost instantly petrifies it's victims. A big pharmaceutical company gives the chance to 160 people to survive by freezing their bodies and waking them up several years after. When they wake up they find that everything has been taken over by monsters, and they have to... See full review

B Gata H Kei - Yamada's First Time

on Jan 31, 2011

A lot of time ahs passed since I wrote my first review and I really liked this series so I think it's time to review it Story: The story is simple yet it's really well executed. It centers on Yamada, a girl who decided to set her goal on having 100 fuck buddies. The problem is that Yamada is a virgin and she never had a boyfirend, so she doesn't know how to pick up guys and all that stuff. To make things worse, her first "victim" is a shy guy who is also a virgin and, like Yamada, he never had a girlfriend in his life. Because of that there are a lot of awkward moments in the anime that'd make... See full review

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo

on Jan 1, 2011

At the beginning I didn't planned to watch this anime because the description of the series and the pic in the chart didn't catch my attention but, when I joined the fansub in which I'm actually at, I have to translate this because it was the only anime that they couldn't translate due to the lack of translators, so I give Yakumo a try. Story (7/10)
In the first episodes I feel like I was watching a mix between Ghost Whisperer and a detective series, looking a bit episodic but, as the story progresses, the protagonists starts to get involved in something bigger than solving random cases. They have... See full review

Little Witch Academia

on Jan 13, 2016

Back in 2010 the Young Animator Training Project (now known as Anime Mirai) started and a lot of anime of different degrees of quality were featured there. Some of them were average (Ryo, Arve Rezzle) while some others were good (Wasurenagumo, Chronus). Among those good shows were two of them that not only were great but also became so...
