If you enjoyed Gundam Wing, I would recommend Zeta Gundam, although it is VERY helpful to have watched Mobile Suit Gundam before embarking upon its sequel. Overall, the best Gundam show I've seen would be Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, which is a movie that closes the MS Gundam/Zeta Gundam storyline, so again, you'd have to watch the series to watch that movie.
But considering my experience only, the one I enjoyed greatly even though it's not necessarily 'brainy' like Zeta is Gundam SEED. So, if you want something that's fun and action-packed, try SEED. And then move onto the new Gundam Unicorn. Can't comment on the plot right now since it's only started, but the animation is something to behold. Hope that helps.
