Hello. I'm Aurora. I've been into anime for about 9 years. My 1st anime was pokemon but my "starter" anime I consider to be Naruto as that has gotten me into all animes. Some may consider me quiet. But I can still talk with anyone as long as they're nice and respectful.

I recently started making youtube videos. These will mostly be video game and visual novel related videos on the PC. I can take certain types of requests to show playthroughs and battles, or special types of the above it will be up to me whether I carry through that request. It has to be within reason naturally, if it is I will try my best to do it when I can.

If you want to know more about me feel free to ask. I'll probally want to know more about you in exchange. I'll tell you simple things, but I will never say anything too personal like my "real name" even if you tell me yours so do not ask please.

Typically I don't have a particular favorite genre. Generally they involve an element of fantasy and psychological part. As long as the anime can hold my interest and allow me to connect with at least 1 of the main characters, I can watch almost any anime.

Here are some of my top favorite animes of all time. This list will continue to change as I watch more anime, or my feelings toward anime I've watched before change as well as gain new perspectives.

1. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni- I basically watched this anime right after Elfen Lied since I've heard people compare this to Elfen Lied. It starts out innocent and cute and quickly gets creepy and brutal. You wouldn't believe this to be a horror anime from watching the 1st 2 episodes! This show also has a lot of characters I like which is important. Beyond the betrayal and paranoia present in this show, it holds great themes such as friendship and overcoming fate. And presents a mystery. It is mostly a debate between whether Oyashiro-sama's curse is actually a curse or caused by humans who want us to think it's Oyashiro-sama's curse. A similar theme is present in the sister series Umineko which is also just as good as Higurashi.

Higurashi

Higurashi

2. Brynhildr in the Darkness- Seeing as this was done by the creator of Elfen Lied, I had to see this. It is a sister of Elfen Lied with the same relationship as with Higurashi and Umineko. However the characters really stick out at you strongly, even more so than Elfen Lied. And they make you want to see them survive and life the "normal" life they couldn't live before. The Protagonist Ryouta is great. He has an ability called Photographic Memory which I refer to as Perfect Memory and has been haunted because he believes he caused his childhood friend's death. And he is unable to forget it and has avoided further relationships. This changes when a character who looks similar to his childhood friend appears, and it turns out she is a fugitive from an organization because she is a Witch with special powers. More of these witches eventually come in and Ryouta wants to help them survive against this organization and find out if aliens exist. It is painful to see the characters go through pain and near death experiences and you will want to see them survive regardless of the odds of certain torture and death.

Brynhildr

3. 11 Eyes- Got to say I really enjoyed this anime. It was one of those rare ones where there wasn't a single main/secondary character I disliked. Allow me to rant about its good points. Characters are taken to an parallel dimension (which is always a fun thing) and they fight Larves and a group called the Black Knights. They don't know why they are fighting. There is also a girl imprisioned in a crystal named Lisette. Without spoiling too much I will say she is my main favorite character from this show and one of my most favored characters of all time in anime on the par with Lucy (Elfen Lied), Light Yagami, and Shion Sonozaki.

11 Eyes

4. Psycho Pass- This anime is true art. It is a sci-fi that takes place in a 1984 similar type of world. A person's potential to commit crime can be quantified and visualized. Even just thinking about a crime is enough to get you branded a latent criminal for the rest of your life. This is Japan ruled by the Sibyl System. The protagonist Akane Tsunemori is a new inspector who's job it is to track down criminals. With her are enforcers, who are latent criminals themselves, and track down other criminals while being watched by the inspectors. Their guns are sentient, they will only work if a target's crime coefficient is high enough. Opposing the Sibyl System is antagonist Shogo Makishima who seeks to bring people's free wills back. This is sort of a law vs chaos type of anime written by Gen Urobuchi (same person who wrote Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, another great anime). The next generation Death Note. And has you decide which is the better of the 2 trying to make the world better. It is perfection, or as close to perfection as one can get.

Psycho Pass

5. Yona of the Dawn- Will update with description soon.

Akatsuki No Yona

Some others worth mentioning are:

Naruto- Not the 1st anime I watched but it was the anime that got me into anime

Angel Beats- This anime was awesome for being unique and set in a world after death where people can imagine and summon weapons and fight without worrying about death. The character of Tenshi is also facinating, you'll love her if you watch the show.

Inuyasha- A very good anime. It has about something for everyone. 2 Tsunderes who have a relationship that builds throughout the show. And the protagonists and the other groups of anti-heroes are bound by the hatred of a common enemy. Naraku, a hanyo just like Inuyasha. It is the best 100+ ep anime out there with minimal filler.

Death Note- 3rd anime I think. It showed me there was more to anime than just the typical Shounen plot/fights. There's the awesome Mental/psychological battles. A key thing is that I personally agree with Light's ideals he worked hard to make the world a better place. That's not something that can be considered "evil" as some think of him. Clearly because of this I hated the ending and hated the 2nd season as a whole. The show didn't feel the same after the 1st season.

Mirai Nikki A survival game with the main tool being a Diary (cell phone/scroll) that can see into the future. It is similar to Fate/SN and The Hunger Games with the survival game aspect. Thou what really makes it interesting are the characters of Yuno Gasai and Minene Uryu. They bring awesome qualities to the show and are fun characters to watch.

Code Geass- Like Death Note but a little more physical action lol. Can't help but wonder if I got my insane obsession with eyes and psychology from this anime? O_O

3x3 Eyes- Normally this anime would be on my top 5. Even above Elfen Lied if I see the whole series. Thou the manga series I found out is about 40 volumes long and the anime ova only covers an 1/8th of that. While the Elfen Lied Anime at least covered 1/2th of the manga. It is a very interesting series from what I've seen so far and thought I should mention it. I even heard it inspired part of Elfen Lied which would automatically ensure a place on my top 5.

Jigoku Shoujo- Similar to Death Note dealing in a dark atmopshere. Every episode seeing Enma Ai-san take requests to send people to hell is interesting, especially since 90% of the time the recipiants of the curse are total bastards which makes it even more satisfying. It also has a very great Soundtrack.

Some anime characters I really love:

Lucy

Lucy-Sama

Shion

Shion-Sama

Light

Light-Sama

Liselotte

Lieselotte-Sama

I'm afraid I have to put up a collection of Yuki-Onna pictures They're my favorite type of Youkai so you know. I must!

 Yuki Onna

 Yuki-Onna

There are manyy other characters I love as well. These are the main ones which have sparked special moments in their animes And hold a special place of respect for Aurora.

I also read visual novels, I don't have a very big collection right now, but I forsee my collection growing in the future. My favorites for now include:

Yumina the Ethereal- This is the main 1st visual novel I've bought. It has a fantastic and unique story with memorable characters, it also has some rpg elements that make it even more interesting. There isn't really a genre you can classify this story in as it seems to be one of those that have a little of everything.

Saya No Uta/Song of Saya- Being a fan of Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass, and Fate/Zero, it follows that a visual novel I would have to have would come from the writer of the series mentioned above. Gen Urobuchi! It was a great story of course and similar to Umineko, it really messed with my head planting questions such as "what is reality". While it is difficult to make sense of these questions, they are interesting to think about.

Video Games are another hobby of mine. I can't count how many I've played though the series that have stood out most to me throughout my life include:

Metroid Series- Pretty much my 1st official video game series I really started playing it deserves a mention. I've played video games before with my friends but from 1st owning a Gameboy Advance I've been hooked to the Metroid series for forever basically. I love pretty much all the games before Other M. With Metroid Prime 2: Echoes being my favorite. Super Metroid/Metroid Prime also coming close. I would consider Metroid to be the best creation of Nintendo for having incredible gameplay (in both 3rd& 1st person) interesting aliens, along with a great overall story that slowly pans out. 3 great things that make for a great game.

Shin Megami Tensei series- by chance I discovered this game at a local gamestore, for only $20 this proved to be one of the best game purchases I ever made. I played SMT: Devil Survivor seeing as RPGs are awesome this one was a classic awesome rpg. I think it to be better than pokemon or any other rpg I've played before. To call it my favorite RPG would be an understatement. You get to control and fight demons YES!! DEMONS!! and choose different routes. The ending and enemies change depending on which path you take which is normally either a Law (totalitarian) or Chaos (Anarchy) path. 2 extremes. There is Neutral as well, but being in the middle of things may not suit me as much. My type of game. Thanks to a facination with demons and rpgs. I've gotten other games in the series such as Strange Journey and Devil Survivor 2. Plan to get more in the future. All the games in this series I've played so far have proven to be quite difficult of course being very fun as well. had the 3 games for several months and I've only beaten Devil Survivor so far. Close to beating Strange Journey but wow its difficult. On the final boss now but can't beat it due to being severely underleveled and not having good enough moves to counter the 1 hit kos the boss throws at you.

haha ye i like watching lots of stuff of new and old to get more knowledge about anime so i hopeuflly know many anime others know (thinking of watching 11 eyes as its in your top so might be good ^^)

lol i think i speak for us both when i say we could rant forever about "k" and how irritating it is xD. I dont think its all to bad to act on emotion, its portrayed bad but i dont see why, acting on emotion is what it says, your acting on your thoughts and how you feel on something,ok does sometimes head to rash decisons but thats part of human nature anyways, better to act on how you feel and occationly make mistakes than suppress it all for no real reason.

Hmm cant say i know, when firefox released about tab groups i thought it meant like how you folder bookmarks and such, so i thought i could put all my anime tabs into a group and all my lets say youtube's in another and so on, but it didnt work like that (or not for me anyways, i probberly didnt use it right) but i gave up on the whole thing, as for features, im not sure :P really to me im happy with my foldered bookmarks so i have about 15 easy to get at folders with all my sites in, otherwise my anime lyrics side bar and black theme, thats all ineed xD

haha saved in word ^^ i hate when power goes out though, we had it late last year (think it was end of november or early december) and the whole of the district i live in power went out, even street lamps so it was awkward for drivers but they went out at round midnight when i was watching my anime, was ages till they was on, nightmare like lol (ruined my anime night). Its annoying when they go out when your working though, i hate it when your installing a really long program or copying lots of stuff so its taking ages, its over half done then power goes, very annoyin there.

Im the same with HD, i dont fuss over HD quality as you said, its the same really... or it is to me, only real differance is HD is alot more space consuming, I  use it if its there and nothing else is, as i dont prioritise looking for 'low' quality stuff but im happy with basic normal quality which looks the same as HD but saves me tons of space. And im the same with being a little worried over data backup, im tempted to get another drive for back up lol. I lost all my data last year in april and was deverstated so hoping now i can do better with backups on hand so if anything happens i backuped up everything (just hate having to reinstall stuff if its a hard drive problem or virus or something).

haha wouldnt hate you for liking something more than something else xD (i actually think i said im about to check 11eyes out... probberly will tomorrow though). Top 6 is kinda odd, probberly why i choose it (i like abnormal lol), though i might move angel beats back up my list to 1st again, i rewatched it whilst i was really ill last week and it is just as great as ever and now i feel it should go back lol

haha most do start in the Naruto/DBZ/Sailor Moon area, i didnt suppringly, i watched pokemon when i was real small but never knew it was a anime... back then i didnt think of things. I started proper anime from then gun as i got older i stumbeled on a forum where every1 spoke deathnote well, i admit it was kinda being a sheep but i tried it and from then on... i have got into real animes as i began looking outwards to what animes there was.

Haha i second that, basically all western TV is just nothing compared to that over in asia, i imagine a life growing up from birth in japan would be amazing compared to over in the west. Ye i think things of 1hour or more should be classed as a movie and below a hour should be extended episodes ^^

Its a good point, i never considered myself to be aware of much anime going on my smallish styled watch counter but i tmight be as you said, its probberly more the spirit and understanding of the animes themself over just how many you seen.

I'd say little busters if you want a fun one, Little busters has over 50-100hours of gameplay and has some small mini games (which is abnormal for a visual novel) within it to add to it, very good stories (well its made by key... them who make, Air,Kanon,Clannad, and Angel Beats). i do generally enjoy the dating sims, i just been playing little busters and its so fun, the stories are always so well put together and its nice choosing what you wanna do.

haha best point there, Dinosaurs being round would make the world more fun ^^ its one thing i like about Haruhi's way of thinking, she wants the world to be fun and interesting, todays world is boring, some perks to enhanse it would be blessings :D All we need is someone with haruhi's power... unfortunatly i think the odds of that happening are some what non existant :(

Well all boxsets are dual audio, i buy loads, and though they come set in english you just click there thing on the menue and it changes to subbed instead... when buying you have to ensure its not cencored but most dont do that. I brought several and non ever censored and some contain strong ecchi moments, i think they have to specify if its censored or not, but i agree censored ones would be discouraging. Im actually expanding my dvd collection quite large lately ^^

Ichi,Ni,San,Yon (yon not you ^^, it does sound like you though as the way there 'o' is said is slightly differant). Kana is kinda like a alphabet in a way, kana represents sounds. We say abc through to z basically taking there starting point they have things like ka and ta, basically there chart is sounds instead of indivual letters like ours, so its like our alphabet if it was chaged to sounds like 'ch'. Its easy to follow, hard to learn them all to heart but most learn them within a month or 2 of daily practise so i suppose there not the hardest to grasp, the kanji are tougher as they have well over a thousand kanji (almost 2thousand.) Though its apparntly possible to learn japanese without kanji it would only be very basics, like you could speak and understand speech but in writing it would be tough, you could write a fair amount but you would have troubles reading as they would write in basic kanji.

haha that sadly is school, take away anything worth doing or fun and replace it with... boring missery. (though must say i liked that last part, "for some places like ELF 2+2=5" hehehehe xD)

ye well almost the whole web was against the sopa stuff, though everyone knows they will bring it back one day sadly and try to force it out again, it will fail though. Its sad though as some sites removed all videos like anime stuff for the reason of they was worried if sopa got passed they would be in trouble, so though SOPA failed they still took there content :(

LOL skinning someone and putting them in a tanning bed, thats epic!!! I agree on that thought, wonder what would happen if you did that o.o i imagine that one would turn out endlessly fun xD in all fairness i think its fair to say they have it coming there way >:D

Ai reality fails, we need someone more willing like haruhi, but anyone who is in power never changes anything for the better, ok they cant grant us our ficational world or mold the world to shape how we see it but its fair to say that we address common shared problems (like bullying) which need dealing with in reality, but no one ever cares to fix that as it wont profit them in anyway... thats the problem this world is just profit :(

haha no offence to Pico to i think he blew his site into the toilet anyways. He throw round his weight and selfish ways and ended up banning his most loyal members after treating them so harshly, whats he gonna have left? if hes lucky he might get a random guest now and then but otherwise he killed his site. As you said, at least us true members can remember it from when it was a good site which offered something worth visiting, not some power corrupt site which hates its community having a voice.

haha well dont think govemants have time to read things like this, read a thew thousand comments posted between members about anime (then multiply it by the endless million websites on the net) it would take forever for them xD. though i agree, facebook is basically 'ye i think it was dissapointing' on here its more like 'ye i found it was a let down because... .... *3 paragraph's later* and thats my point" ^_^ facebook doesnt match anime planet thats for sure ^^

haha i wanted to do the same, add little descriptions for other favorites, but i felt i would have a essay style page then as i never know when to stop. I dont like choosing favorites either, when people say 'whats your favorite anime' how do you choose ONE favorite, i have to many, i struggle to make a top5, its giving me 5 choices but im still saying its not enough and ranking them 1-5, but i guess you could say there all you equal favs :D i wouldnt be able to manage only being able to choose 5 like on MAL espically as you cant really mention others, on here you can do top 5 then say some others which was really great but also explain why there your current 5 and why the others are just as good (we all change our favorites as time goes on for whatever reason so its nice being able to say why).

lol we will get a message from admins one day giving us a thumbs up from sendings the logest consecutive anime planet comments ^^

^_^ Hajimemashite.

I am not that great. My last couple recommendations did not turn out so great. As for if it's not on your list.. I think that mostly is up to you. It's easier for me when I can look through a want to watch list and see if there is something I have seen that is around the genres you like that you may be interested in. Since there are so many out there, ones that are not already in your list are difficult to choose and be close to what you may like.

I don't know if that makes sense.

Before I had my huge want to watch list (Haha. ^_^) I used to go to the anime tab and click on the random anime that popped up if I didn't know what it was and the name/picture sounded interesting. Then I would read the description and it would be either added to my want to watch or I would try again because some day I will eventually watch it... just maybe not anytime soon.

Some Horror Anime: Ayakashi: Japanese Classice Horror, Aoi Bungaku Series,  Boogiepop Phantom, Ghost Hound, Kaidan Restaurant (is a light horror, for like kids.), Kurozuka, Mononoke, Requiem from the Darkness (Similar to Jigoku Shoujo), Pet Shop of Horrors.

Bold (if it shows up bold), is what you might like better.. but in the end, you may hate all of them. So it won't hurt my feelings if you tell me so. ^_^ As for your other genres... hmmm.. that is somewhat difficult.. there are lots in the Fantasy genre.

Mystery... Apparenty, Wolf's Rain is mystery.

Detective Conan is a good one and I saw it's on your want to watch. I know it is still ongoing and it's REALLY long.. but yeah.

I liked Un-Go that aired this past season. It was interesting. ^_^

And.. that is as far as my mystery genre goes.. haha.

Anywho, yeah. I used to write lots of big replies as well. ^_^

I only have two classes. It's half online half on campus, but if individuals do not do their work on the online portion it makes it very difficult to do my part. Because the online part works just like an internet forum. You post your thread by the deadline specified by the teacher (usually 48 hours) and then you go and reply to other students threads by another specified deadline (usually 48 hours.)

However, you get instances where you and one other person posted by the deadline.. and you have 2 hours left before the next deadline. I had already replied to the other student, but that left one reply left. Which learning wise, it isn't fair. Grade wise, it doesn't count against us if no one posted something for me to reply to and I had my initial post.

So, just watching the "forum" so to speak, takes time because you try to make sure that there is something to write to and that you can understand it. If you can't understand it, you have to take the extra time to decipher it and then figure out how you are going to reply.

So I take my dad's laptop to work with me and I check every now and then and during my free time (if I get any, which this week I didn't) I will work on my research papers or my essays.

I have fun at work every now and then. Haha. I have my days and it is rough. Especially with all these papers coming due and the discussion posts, I start to worry if I will have time. x.x

OoOoOoOoOo nice. My weekends I have been using to write my research paper. Haha. Except.. I have to scratch it.. because I wrote it all wrong. Haha. And it's due next Thursday. x.x

Hope you have fun this weekend as well. I have to get ready to go to my other volunteer job now.

Hey! finally back on again

Completely on the same level with you about when an anime changes the manga creator's ideas. I believe the Elfen Lied anime differed quite a bit from the manga, but I haven't even finished that yet so I can't be one to judge.

How's the Haruhi manga? I've been wanting to get the show but can't find it anywhere, everyone seems to love it. heard the endless eight arc on the anime caused quite a controversy though

Laptop has been great! runs 1080p on youtube no lag, so i've nothing to complain about.

Been watching anything new?
